Got this for $100...seems to work fine..no damage to the wood, but the vinyl has some scratches on it...CPO is great, not much screen burn, pretty clean inside the cab...had all the keys...got it for $100...overall pretty solid machine with minimal damage.

question...don't know much about the game...it has an arched marquee but no side art...is this a conversion or something or is it missing the art or what? Anyone have any info they can give me on it?

thanks

F YOU, ive been looking for one, its a dedicated data east cab ive seen some with side art and some without, your also missing the bezel, were are you located?

It's definitely a dedicated cab. I want to say that the side art kind of looked like the movie poster. It should also have art around the monitor bezel.

I was just in Omaha a few weeks ago, and one of their random crap antique stores downtown had an arcade machine there with that type of curved marque. Probably was the same Data East cab too, as they looked familiar. I can get you more info if you want.

probably bit far for me

yeah i dont know what happened to the bezel...this came from a guy that owns a local restaurant chain...he said his son ordered it when it was new and thats the way it came? guess they didn't put the artwork and bezel on it or something...i dunno.

The insides look brand new...the only real damage is the scratches on the vinyl on the sides...the small block you see on the upper left hand side above the coin door is a service sticker...when i saw the pics i thought maybe it was a chunk missing but its just a sticker. It also has the Data East sticker on the back and it looks brand new.

I'd say its about an 8 out of 10 overall.

I'm in VA near Bristol.

there is one like it on ebay for $185 right now.

Ah, lol just Google mapped your location. Don't want to drive 600 miles round trip? :p

I also Googled some to find out what that cab actually was.

It was identical to this, game and all, except a lot more wear and tear. They were asking $400 or so.

interesting...i read in the database here about the Bad Dudes conversion with the curved marquee...but didn't have a chance to google it yet.

Now I wonder if this was a conversion or dedicated? did both games have the same CPO?

I don't remember, but I can't say it wasn't. I know that doesn't help, but if I had to guess, I would say it was the same as the pic. If you were really curious, I could do some leg work and actually find the name of the place, someone calls the shop, ask for a pic message of the CP....

yes both games used cpo(i think) its a generic data east overlay

thanks for the info guys...

i wont have time to really fool with this until the weekend...but, does anyone know where i can get some repro artwork or at least the Data East artwork for the sides? and also, does anyone make repro vinyl for the sides or should I just paint it?

sweet...thanks a lot! I will need to measure the bezel area i guess just to make sure.

I'll order the side art and bezel from there...now just need to figure out what to do with the vinyl? I will hit it with a magic eraser and see how it does, but i doubt it will do much...looks like it got laid on its side to get moved a couple of times and got some pretty nasty scratches.

new vinyl all the way around and some new t molding with the above mentioned side art and bezel and this thing would be as good as new :)

Nice pickup! I wanted to make some side art like this guy did but I ended up selling my Robocop, it looks alot better with the larger decal on the sides.
