When I joined here I was told building a multicade was a stepping stone, and everyone was right😅

My Mom had always said growing up that she wanted a Ms Pac Man game, as my Dad has a few pinball machines and an Arctic Thunder. Her and my Dad used to play it at a bar near his house in Windsor, ON, CA called Rumors, which then was the Pompeii. Him and I have both been casually looking for a Ms Pac for her and saw one locally on marketplace 20 minutes from his house

Picked him up this morning and went to meet the gentleman who had owned it for 3 years and he was told it came from an old donut shop. It plays well and needs a few little things but it looks clean

We unloaded it in my Dad's shop and surprised my Mom who did not expect it at all. He is starting to go through some basics like tidying up the wiring, replacing the hacked up power cord, cleaning out the dirt and debris inside and making sure all the fuses are the correct values as well as getting the fan working as it was removed. It will eventually need a cap kit but that is down the road.

Our number 1 technician is also busy helping out

Thats a good looking game. A spit shine will go a long way. I don't love the operator tag under the glass. But if you do remove it, might be worth preserving it inside the cabinet.

Change those bulbs behind the joysticks and at the coin door while your at it.

Id also give that coin door the ole @ArcadeJason polish trick, as its not that bad but could use a spruce up.

Great game to get your feet wet with, I've restored and or repaired quite a few of these and I currently have a few now. Good luck with it.

That rocks!!

If you can, before the window closes, GET THE NAME OF THE DONUT SHOP. Even if you have to call the guy and say "sorry to bug you again"

From there you can look the place up and print out the details as provenance, and, you might even find a pic with the machine on site. Don't wait!!

Excellent grab! I hope you enjoy it. There have been several of Ms. Pac cocktails popping up in the Boston area Market place lately.

awesome first game
Great start to the collection.

Thank you Scuba King! This one will be staying at my parent's place with his collection of stuff. I'm sure I'll stumble into another project for myself too before long

Thanks Cameron! I personally enjoy the operator tag as it goes with the history of the machine. My Dad and I are big into working on old equipment and having a dealer sticker on a machine is a big deal which adds a bit more charm we thunk. To each there own thi!

The bulbs are getting replaced and it appears the sockets themselves for the coin door bulbs are missing and damaged so we will be repairing that shortly

That is a very interesting video thank you for sharing! I am shocked how well that worked and will definitely keep it in mind. I've learned so many neat tricks from this forum!

Thank you Gumby! It should be a fun project for both my Dad and I. He rebuild 2 of his 3 pins that he has, a 1972 William's Fan-Tas-tic and a 1976 Bally Freedom so we have dabbled in this sort of thing before

That's funny you mentioned that as I did message the guy this morning to double check the name. He believes it was from Country Side Donuts which used to be in Windsor on Drouillard road. I plan to poke around on the historic/past pages on Facebook to see if I can find anything about it. Finding that history would be a very nice addition!

Thank you Dan, I haven't seen any other pop up around here within about a 3 or 4 hour radius of us for a long time. My area really doesn't have a lot of population compared to the big cities so that could be why

Nice pickup! I just got my first cocktail about a month ago, an original Pac-Man. I really enjoy it!

Then I got my second cocktail a week later, because I make lots of poor decisions :-D

Last night my Dad took apart the fan and was able to get it working again. It appears someone had sprayed some kind of lubricant in it at some point and it turned to a sticky tar like substance. He removed the shrouding and disassembled the fan, cleaned all the old lubricant out, and put a couple drops of oil in it and now it spins like new. Seeing the production date on the fan I thought was pretty neat. Just need to rivet the bracket back on and it can be installed.

Thank you! Congratulations on your first cocktail as well! I will say after playing this one a bit I really enjoy the cocktail layout, it feels more social than 2 players at a cabinet I think

Not sure if I will come home with another next week like you, but weirder things have happened😂

It's a nice way to add a couple more games where you otherwise couldn't fit some, that's for sure. Here's my Pac and my Space Invaders (needs a little fix up but will be great) near my board game & tabletop collection. Let me fit 2 more games in the basement without blocking access to that stuff.

That looks awesome! I see what you mean, it really uses the space well! Thank you for sharing

With the fan riveted back together I gave my old man a hand and we tipped it on it's side to reinstall the fan. When we tipped it I realized a couple of the feet were broken and I said wait a second, I have a set of spares from my Z-back build. Went home and grabbed them and brought them back so now they won't mark the floor if it goes into the house

He gave the edge connector a cleaning and tied off some of the wiring as it was all over the place which would place weird force on the edge connector causing issues. After a cleaning and everything tucked away it all works well and the fan is humming away
