Saw the ad on CL, responded to the email. Guy said it doesn't work. No problem.

Received directions, was there in about an hour. Good ol' Phoenix traffic!

Came to a house, garage is PACKED! Couldn't believe it. There was no pics of this cab, just the contact info. Oh boy! Lucky for me, it only required removing a row of boxes, filled with books of course...

I use the dolly, remove, throw it in the truck.

Without being rude, I listened to the story of how the hospital "screwed him up". A half hour later, I pay the $40. He asked me why I didn't haggle. I just said it was worth it to me (going to make this for my sister) and was on my way home.

I drop it off in my garage. Leave it alone for about a week. Decided to go out there yesterday to start stripping the parts for pwdercoat. Open up the back door and see the worst splice job of the electrical cord.

It looked worse than what it was, so I decide to plug it in to see what was going on.

No power, no nothing.

I looked at the fuses, all there, tested fine. Then looked at the power locks, both were turned sideways and not on! Pulled out the levers, fired up!

Monitor is collapsed and rolling, marquee doesn't work with a new bulb and starter, however game sounds and seems to play ok!

Got pretty lucky!

You know it's bad when the sideart, CPO, trackball, etc all individually cost more than the initial cab! :)

You lucky bugger! I am considering picking up a Centipede at the moment (Would be my first ever game) and If I'm lucky I can talk him down to $500ish from $700...mind you it is in pretty nice shape.

Good score!

are you kidding me? why would you bargain for a $40 centipede? seriously. nice score, btw! a little capping and you should be good to go.

Nice find there, I have been checking craigslist and I must have missed this one. I'am in the east valley of Phoenix, howdy neighbor :)

Very nice find. Looks like you have a few difficult projects going at this time! But there is always room for one more!

That's a good buy if you're leaving it alone otherwise what you meant to say was you just picked up a $400 Centipede.

You got it right!

Think I may be able to do it pretty cheap though. You know I like to make them look good!

Marquee - $20
CPO - $35
Sideart - $49!!! And it's the PA Irish Cab design! It was off of ebay...

From there, a cap kit and should be rocking to go!

But yeah, the $40 cab turns into $200. Unlike the $106 Crossbow cab that'll turn into $850+ with the 440 pcb. ;)

Not bad. She looks rough but for the price tag, good deal.

If you end up not using the RH side art, I want it.

I have a control panel to sell/trade but sounds like you are going repro with this?

I'm going to use both sides of the European sideart. It has more of a purple/pink glow around the centipede.

And yes, I am going repro. I'll strip the old and get the CPO from QuarterArcade. I think I have a trackball around here somewhere that should work. Worst case, I'll rebuild the other.

Thanks for the offer though! And sorry about the sideart.
