This Buster Bros was on our local CL for 60.00 . I could tell it was a Gorf cab and decided to check it out. It's in pretty sad shape overall but the original power supply and transformer were still there and the WG monitor is intact. After talking to the guy for awhile he said how about 10 bucks. Meh, why not. It was about 2 miles from my house.Hopefully I will be able to convert this back. Time will tell.
Looking pretty Gorfed up :

Love how the monitor has been mounted horizontally:

I just couldn't walk away from this Hellcade:

Just what i needed, another project.

Man whoever converted that thing should be brought up on charges! Hey if you need parts to convert it back I have a complete wiring harness, plus a ton of other Gorf stuff you may want/need, just pm me with a list if you like...

Might have to take you up on that. I think i wanna see if i can salvage the cab before spending any money on Gorf parts. If there are any parts you need in trade, let me know in a PM. This game needs almost everything Gorf related.

I love a project and the price is definitely right. Does it work? I had a Gorf converted to BreakThru. The side art was intact and the machine was in good shape. I had trouble getting a boardset to work. Out of 2.5 sets, I couldn't get one to work so I gave up and converted the thing to Twin Cobra and sold it. I was short a wiring harness and bezel glass. The control panel had extra holes and the wrong joystick. I should have kept the working Gorf that I had several years ago. It was in much better shape but I got greedy.

I'm afraid to plug it in lol. I am going to rebuild the original power supply and monitor that are still in there and then slowly assemble all the Gorf parts i need. I will probably sand the cab down some and see if it can be saved before spending a lot of money on it but for 10.00 i figured i had nothing to lose.

Looks like a fun project (but a lot of work). I'll contribute a well used control panel to the project to save a Gorf if you are looking to do this cheaply (but I highly recommend getting one of the repro panels that TOG did)

Is this still available from TOG, or is this an item one has to pick up from someone that purchased it and never used? I can't find but a handful of things on the TOG site (I know, I've complained before, but I just assumed it was me/my browser). Either way, they need to dump the hosting site for intercepting 404s, IMO.

Check out the "Gorf" link in Spyridon's sig for some inspiration. He definitely had a better cab to start with, but he did a great resto nonetheless.

Wow, that's going to be a project, but for $10 I would have grabbed it too.
Where is this one going to go? :D

Your title reminded me of when I found our ex-Gorf for $5.00 sitting in the front of a farmer's yard next to a burn pile. :)

Needless to say Gorf is yet another one that I get asked "Why did you sell <insert all games I have sold here> Dad/husband?" ;)

Good luck with getting that back to it's former glory! :beerchug:

Last I heard TOG was out of stock. It's not your browser, the website has been messed up for a while.
