Was playing Satans Hollow and got a text from my friend about a CL ad the other night. A deal I could'nt pass up. Was not working had a bad power supply, luckily I had an extra one laying around. Not the brown cab and needs a joystick grommet but a deal nonetheless.

That looks really nice. That is the one Taito game I remember playing as a kid (other than Space Invaders of course).

Aren't the color mismatches sometimes original for the Taito cabinets, just like you sometimes get William's games in the wrong cabinets.

orig. is light brown I believe but most of the elevator actions I have seen were conversions from Jungle King or Jungle Hunt. My frontline is in a light brown cabinet but the orig. is a dark brown so a large majority of taito games were conversions.

Ok, only one I ever had was a brown Frontline. At least with the Taito games (other than Zoo Keeper) you can mix and match and no one other than us collectors will ever know.

taito games

crazy climber has an orange cab, qix has a white cab, Alpine Ski has a blue cab, lunar rescue and some other machines have different cabs also. The first zookeeper I picked up was in a green taito cab but it was painted black, luckily the parts found there way back into a dedicated cab. There are a lot of oddball colored taito cabs but jungle king or hunt, front line or elevator action seem to be the most mixed color cabs. I recently had a front line in a green cab, sold fizgig a elevator action in a brown cab (hopefully I can get the cab from him if he cuts a new one =)

If you find the dark brown cab please post pics, I'd love to find the paint codes for that one. That one seems to be the more rare version and I'm not talking about the light brown one Wild Western's are in. I remember a few years ago DJDNS had sold one in the dark brown cab and you can see a little of the color on the front on the flyer.

I have owned 2 elevator actions now, and know 2 other collectors that have them in my area. Every single one of them started out in the green Taito cab. The only one that is currently different is the one I personally transplanted from a green cab to a silver/black Qix cab (which I got completely stripped, was in amazing shape, and looked spectacular once it was done).

Funny, a few months ago it seemed like everyone told me these were rare and seldom popped up. Lately, they have been available all over the place around me. Then again, I've seen a rash of Q*Berts changing hands too... something in the air...

Elevator Action was largely a kit game and I have read in the past that most Wild Western cabs were converted to EA, which is why so many of them have the light brown color scheme that is often considered correct for EA. A lot of Jungle King / Hunt cabs were converted to EA as well.

Probably posted before, but I've never seen that cabinet picture you posted. That is an excellent resource. Thanks for posting it. Should be shown in KLOV pictures somewhere.

Yeah... Jungle King/Hunt was HUGE for Taito... there were so many green cabs out there... many were converted to EA. The one I had was originally a green JH/K before it was an EA. I am not sure if it was kitted that way or if Taito had a shit-ton of green cabs and converted them to EA at the plant?

I bought a brown one from DNS some years back. Wild Western conversion according to the coin box.

this is the first one I had, had several green ones since but the last brown one I had went to dan.

this is the color cab I was referring to, it's a little different color then a Wild Western, which Dan owns it? I'd love to see if I could get pics to see about the color codes for it.
