You and Alan are going next year... Get our your credit cards and I'll pick you up on my way to the airport (which isn't on my way).

Put $50-$100/paycheck for the next 10 months away, and your trip (flight/room) is paid for. Make plans, and come out. You wont be disappointed.
Consider it done. However, I can only hope to make Josie's future "Best Butts of CAX 2011" thread. A man can dream, can't he?

Everyone who has been saying " we need something like this closer" all have a year to plan this out, and start saving money. The dates have been announced already. July 9-10, 2011. Put $50-$100/paycheck for the next 10 months away, and your trip (flight/room) is paid for. A LOT of time/effort/love goes into this event and its taken 15 years to get to where its at. You aren't just going to throw a show like this one together thats close to you. Make plans, and come out. You wont be disappointed.

I honestly don't see why the east coast and even the midwest doesn't have something like this. And yes you can plan and all that but even the best laid plans can be derailed by all those curveballs that life likes to throw your way.

Yea, all you need is a hand full of crazed collectors willing to drag 400+ of their personal games to the show each year and you've got yourself a show! ;-)

And attendance. Someone put on an arcade show at City College in San Francisco 5 years or so ago and maybe 10 people showed up the whole weekend. Ouch!

Well said!

As one of the founding members, I can attest to this. Our first year had about 150 games. 15 years later, we're getting close to 500 games (and we have a date for next year already!).

It's a lot of hard work, dozens of people put in hundreds of hours (each) to make it happen, all because we love video games (and are a little insane).
If this person has no respect for Propcycle maybe they will sell me these parts:

I made a new CP and seat, but the other part I didn't. I would rather have original parts instead!

EDIT:

OK so how about hooking me up with the parts? :D

As for the Propcycle - We got 2 of them around the same time, neither working. We made one work and PRESERVED the other bicycle (seen in the pic) rather than THROWING IT AWAY. We also still have the sides of the cabinet (in the bathroom at our warehouse) because it has cool artwork. The working Propcycle was at CAX also.

The generic looking gun game with the pedal (#128) was Time Crisis 3 (Boardset rescued from a game that another operator junked)

The Encom video pinball had a new playfield layout/gameplay and new sounds. I peeked inside the back of the game and it looks like an add-on kit to the original PCB.
