4 player Eliminator is a Stand-At game. No chairs needed. It's not a cocktail.
This was a very fun game that I had never seen or heard of before this weekend, thanks for bringing it! I did not see a way for less than 4 players to play at a time though, is this true? If so that is a bummer...

It's running a version of the ROMS that starts all 4 players from one switch. The standard ROMS allow you to play from 1 to 4 players. It's easier at the show, to just install one switch.

Ah I see, very cool. Now I want one... but unfortunately I heard what has already been offered for it. :(

Someone PM'd me asking about the game play on Nightmare so I thought it might be interesting to someone else as well. If I am mistaken on anything in my description someone can correct me...I didn't play it that much but here's my response to him from my recollection:

You are a disembodied head that moves around the screen. You control the movement with a joystick. You can fire "bullets" out the side of your head and you control the direction using a spinner knob so basically it's the same controls as Tron.

The background of the screen is fairly plain but periodically it will start to kind of bubble up in areas and then those bubbling spots turn into objects that you have to shoot and destroy. Sometimes it's eyeballs, sometimes it's bones, sometimes other things. And as you are doing this, once in a while a padlock appears on the screen. You can run over the padlock and then it will open up and then disappear. You do this a few times and then another padlock appears that's a different color (blue maybe?) and when you run over that, everything on the screen kind of swirls away into a vortex in the middle of the screen.

Periodically, it goes to a cut-screen that shows your progress through a maze. As you clear more levels, it progresses you through the maze. I didn't get that far into so I don't know what else happens. But, based on a question someone asked him, it sounds like there isn't really an ending when you complete the maze. Not sure of the details though.

Cool, glad you captured some pics. Perhaps the owner will dump the roms and it will get emulated at some point. Although if it was my game I'd be tempted to keep it exclusive since it adds to the mystique.

I may have considered it, but the wife and I are doing an Alaskan cruise later this year that trumped all other vacations for 2010... I also do CGE when I can, which I'm also going to miss this year. :001_ssad:

Next year I think I'm gonna try and go -- these things just look like too much fun to miss. Maybe we can get a small group of Michigan guys to all fly out together?

You and Alan are going next year... Get our your credit cards and I'll pick you up on my way to the airport (which isn't on my way).

Everyone who has been saying " we need something like this closer" all have a year to plan this out, and start saving money. The dates have been announced already. July 9-10, 2011. Put $50-$100/paycheck for the next 10 months away, and your trip (flight/room) is paid for. A LOT of time/effort/love goes into this event and its taken 15 years to get to where its at. You aren't just going to throw a show like this one together thats close to you. Make plans, and come out. You wont be disappointed.

All I really need is my wife to get a job........

So this game was made to promote the Tron Legacy movie/campaign?

To those of you that played it, what did you think of the gameplay and cab design? I noticed from another picture that it has a plexi design at the bottom of the cab similar to the inside of EDOT.

Were there any flyers or posters at CAX for this game like the announcement shown in the thread below?

Ill be starting a new thread on this project soon.
but the game play was a complete redesign/rom hack from the orginal and more like Solar War (unreleased Atari prototype) than VP
also with an added soundboard to trigger new tron sounds with the game play, the pins were sooo loud you couldnt hear VP2.0 at all : (

Just got back to my place to crash for the night (my parents place :) )...and we'll unload our truck tomorrow.

Jon
