Maybe something you guys don't think of or care about, but the east coast would also be much more affordable and reachable for European collectors.

Best spots would be around any major airport where a lot of tourists come (NYC, Washington maybe Florida ?) because that means cheap tickets...

Great pictures again, and I can only dream of visiting one day....

I didnt have may camera last night but I took a cruddy cel phone pic of the playfield.

Charlotte would be a great place for a Caxclone. A lot of collectors (including me) drive out there for the auctions anyway.

That Donkey Kong had the worst joystick ever.:(
I think it was missing a part or had a broken piece in it.
You had to really force the stick into the direction you wanted.
It was just barely playable.

I went and shot a pic of every game this morning. Looks like I missed a huge row of pins near the Marco table. I will go in Sunday mornign before it opens to get the shots. Towards the end of my shoot, the crowd was coming in so I had to pick up the pace!

Nice to meet some of you today!

Well done on the pics! That unknown cocktail with the huge yellow buttons is Space Zap. I've got one :)

The Mario Bros WB also was in poor shape.
Sticky controls and a monitor out of tune...

Thanks! I'll fix the titles.

I was bummed that the Kung Fu Master joysick was craptastic. I love that game and it was barely playable. I do understand though. Its tough keeping your games going at the show.

the ironic thing was that the games that really didn't fail or have any issues for the most part were all vectors. btw, i'll be posting 75 or so pics in the morning. pretty pooped after staying up all night and drinking for two days.

So this game was made to promote the Tron Legacy movie/campaign?

To those of you that played it, what did you think of the gameplay and cab design? I noticed from another picture that it has a plexi design at the bottom of the cab similar to the inside of EDOT.

Were there any flyers or posters at CAX for this game like the announcement shown in the thread below?

the gameplay i thought was similar (possibly the same) as video pinball. and yes, there were postcard sized flyers, the same style as the tron viral marketing ones sort of. i snagged one from rich/rikitiki's table.

That joystick was put together wrong if you lifted it up it worked good but I still got 3rd place though he he

I'm pretty sure it was Video pinball still just new (badass) art. It was a very stunning visual. From the sideart to the black light reactive artwork on the playfield. Posted pictures will never do it justice.

EDIT: I just checked the flyer for VP. Yep, I do believe it was still Video Pinball underneath.

are there any events like this around chicago?

Are there any events like this around chicago? Man I wanna go to one of these east west coast guess it sucks to be stuck in the middle huh?

Just got back to my place to crash for the night (my parents place :) )...and we'll unload our truck tomorrow.

I'm super-tired and then some, but did want to give a quick heartfelt thanks to everyone who brought games and/or attended.

The count of games I'm told exceeded our previous record by about 40 games or so...I heard we had 471 games! Holy moly!!

One of my personal highlights for this year's show was to see and play Star Fire again for the first time probably since about 1980 or so...the machine was in great shape and played perfectly..just the way I remembered it. How did Exidy get away without licensing for those Tie Fighters anyway? :)

Gotta get to sleep....

I think my 223k stayed at the top for the whole show. I gave up at that point and killed off the remaining lives. It was becoming an endurance game with that stick. I think I might bring mine down next year even if there is already one on the list. I think the DK had a funky stick last year too.

I need to do some practicing so I can try to compete with Andrew on a machine with a working stick. :)
