Pic of every game currently at CAX

Thanks for all of the pics, I saw two games right next to each other, which are two games that I have been thinking about getting in the near future. I think that's a sign :D

I also loved the 8 player Super Sprint, that would be awesome to have, couldn't get it through the door though. And they even had a Willow present, damn Midwest never has anything like this.

That is AWESOMELY insane! I wish we had something like that on the east coast.

I was thinking the same thing earlier today, except on the coast.

I bet a nice place on the beach can be had for cheap for the next few years in Biloxi, Mobile, Gulf Shores/Orange Beach, or Pensacola. And the businesses could use the money to make up for the awful tourist season this year.

If anyone is interested I can check with a friend that does a lot of work in the Gulf Shores and Orange Beach area to see if they are offering deals to get folks to reserve convention space.

If the places on the beach are not making deals then I bet one of the places a little off of the beach in Mobile, Biloxi, or Pensacola would work with us on it.

It would need to be toward the beginning of the summer (last weekend in May or during June). July and August are too likely to have an interruption from a hurricane.

I guess it could also be in the Winter. We generally have mild Winters and it usually doesn't get really cold until Jan. or Feb.. It can get cold in Nov. or Dec., but I remember spending many of the holidays in t-shirts and short pants, so a winter gathering wouldn't be too bad. We would also avoid the monsoon-like rains if it was in the winter.

Anyhow, if anyone is interested then PM me or we can start a new thread on it.

If it was done on the East Coast, this would be the ideal place:

That way it is with in a days drive for all of us.

EDIT:

And look at the side of the exhibit hall:

As long as it's not sponsered by BP or at some beach resort with a huge oily film surrounding the beach/water, I'd go, lol.

#6: Super Breakout: Marquee looks faded as hell and he's missing the bezel. Mine is in way better shape, and I may consider parting it if I can't find a monitor. Anyone know who owns this machine?

#128: Shooting game: Looks like it has a pedal so I'd venture a guess at one of the Time Crisis series.

#313: F355 Challenge Deluxe... I can't believe somebody dragged that huge machine there. Awesome.

#334: 4 player pong... That machine looks unhappy. Someone needs to help that guy out with a staple gun or something

#351-352: Love the cocktail pins! I've never even seen that before.

Nice pictures. There is a very nice selection of Williams video games. Except that I do shed a tear for this poor Joust cabinet:

At least do something about that bezel..........

What is that Nightmare game in a Tron cabinet? Some kind of prototype game?

Looks like so much fun!

Did I miss them in the pics, or were there no Pole Positions??

Also.. what was that Encom cabinet what was being unpacked? I think that is the one that Rich at ThisOldGame was building. Maybe I missed a pic of it completely unwrapped.

It is a prototype conversion kit for Tron. It was made by the same guys who did Ms Pac, Food Fight and Quantum.

+100,000,000!

Ive talked to another preservation group about starting something like this in Columbus Ohio. Great location to do this since there are some huge cities within 200 miles of us. I know it's not east coast but it's close enough. Thought about doing one in Kentucky but collectors hauling games up and down mountain/hills would be a killer IMO.

The hangup right now is some of the bigger facilities aren't budging on the cost to rent out a space which in this economy is surprising.

They are looking to have one going on sometime in 2011.

It was built by General Computer Corp. One of the founders, Doug Macrae was one of the speakers yesterday. They were the creators of the "Super Missile Attack" add on for Missile Command and then later they created "Super Otto" which, of course, became Ms. Pacman.

He was pretty interesting to listen to. Anyway, at one point he talked about Nightmare and how surprised he was that this showed up here since he thought they were all destroyed. He said he had forgotten all about it until someone putting the show together called and told him it would be there so he went and dug up some pictures of them working on it and stuff.

He said that on the later prototypes, the knob controller was a skull, the joystick was a femur and the buttons were eyeballs. It has some interesting and "nightmarish" game play but doesn't quite feel finished yet. But it's a pretty neat piece of rare history.

Is there anything like this in the northwest region?

Is there anything like this in the northwest region? WOW! Love your pictures thanks for the time and effort in taking them. I live in the chicagoland area Northwest Indiana is there anything like this around here?

How about the Charlotte Convention Center? They gotta be pretty cheap. I work in there all time time, and they seem to have plenty of room for a shin-dig of this size.

Anyway got a chance today to look at all the photos, lots of cool stuff in them. Love the EM stuff, and some of the rarer games. Wish we had something like this a few hours away.
