Photos of arcade entrances in malls

Here's a picture of The Machine at the Crystal Point Mall on opening day 1976. It was taken in the entranceway, which really wasn't more than a big sliding door.

Yes, this looks like it was taken on the day Lincoln was shot...it was taken from an old newpaper photo.

Actually, that reminds of the pic where Lee Harvey Oswald got shot by Jack Ruby.

Any arcade in mall of America seems like theres a few gophers on here posting

There used to be three arcades...four if you count the Starbase Omega laser tag place. The upstairs arcade closed, that was the more adult arcade where many a legendary battle of MK, SF2, KI...even Primal Rage took place. The downstairs arcade which was in Camp Snoopy was two seperate arcades, now both are in the Nickelodeon Park. They were always more kiddie, but had all the fighters too back in the day. Nowadays, they are basically worthless to anyone over the age of 10. :(

Osward's been shot!!

The strange thing is that I WAS THERE when it opened and played those ghostly looking machines. Gun fight was a pretty new game at that point in time. The little shooting game you can see in the picture cost 10 cents to play, as did a few other games there. So they gave out some change in dimes instead of quarters. Man was that a long time ago...
