Photos of arcade entrances in malls

I do like how the lettering looks or that. Malice I would consider a neon for that price with the lettering. I'm worried about to big of sign with the Clearence of the cealing

I'm working on getting some quotes now with a couple suppliers.. I should have some numbers and a good idea if its feasible in the next couple days.

Sounds great. Worse case I could angle out the entrance and hang it on one side or the other with arcade hours and rules on the other side

Anyone have pictures of a 'Land of Oz' arcade? What about old 'Castle' or Castle/Malibu pictures?

You say Aladdin's Castle I have the same problem you do, cant find a freaking picture that matches the one I went to as a kid. The red tile and the columns in the front of the place. I know That I got a picture taken on my birthday in front of the place as a kid but cant find it at all. I think It never got developed or just didn't turn out. The good news and bad news is I still have like 10 rolls of film from that era not developed and have had film work that is that old But I doubt it will come out.

On a side note though I have been messing with Google sketch-up and remade the front of it from memory. I think the lettering is way to big but is close enough to the original (I used a token). I just haven't finished the lettering on Castle yet. I could post a picture of the unfinished front if you want. Maybe a few people from my area could confirm how correct it is. :D

We didn't have an Aladdin's Castle in my hometown, but there was one a couple of hours away in my cousin's city and for birthdays, summer vacation, etc. we would spend an afternoon playing games that I usually hadn't seen before. It was special times and as a result I recently had a nice EL Aladdin's Castle sign made for my game room. It's about 20 inches across.

if anyboidy can come up with one called " the electronic experience" in the machesney park mall (machesney park il) OR "TILT" in the northtowne mall (rockford il)

i would almost suck your balls for it.

I believe this one is the Aladdin's Castle as it was in Springfield, IL White Oaks Mall, after it relocated upstairs.

I'd love to see a picture of it in the original downstairs location. It was one of the first businesses in White Oaks Mall, downstairs down the first hall outside of what was originally Montgomery Wards. I spent a lot of time there when I was in junior high and high school... good memories...

They had an awesome Exidy Star Fire cockpit machine that I used to plow quarters into. I'd love to have that machine.

My parents still live near Springfield, so I'm down there quite a bit.

Here's a picture of my youth arcade back in 1986 this picture was pulled from the web and I believe is the only picture of the front of "GoldMine arcade" the picture is not the best in quality but you get the point of what it looked like from the front. I trully miss that arcade great memories playing there :)

Nice looks like a lost mine shaft very cool. This is bring new ideas my way. I never thought of doing a theme that might be cool.

Attached is one I got from Facebook of the Atari Adventure that was here in St. Louis at Crestwood Mall. And probably the best shots I've ever seen of Atari Adventure: http://www.billpoon.com/atari.html . I emailed this architect for more info or pictures but sadly never heard anything back. This is solely responsible for me being so into arcade games today. As as a 5 year old in 1986, this pretty much blew my mind.

We had an arcade called The Silver Mine when I was growing up in Amarillo....I think that name is better than Gold Mine given the use of quarters! :)

Wow, does that bring back memories!!!

Didn't go to the mall much in the 80's. Mainly just for Christmas shopping. Went more to St. Louis Center when that opened in the mid 80's. But man, I remember that entrance from whenever mom would take me out to Crestwood!

Yes! I remember playing the Gold Mine in the Savannah Mall BITD. Great memories - thanks for posting that!
