This may sound weird but after lots of Google searching and not coming up with what I need. I thought I would turn to the brotherhood. I'm going to build a rather large dedicated arcade space in the basement of my families new house. I had the idea to put up a new wall and mock it up after the entrance to a mall arcade. I used to live at Aladdin castle and have every birthday there. So I want that for my kids(2yr. Girl and 2 month Boy). Please post any pics of arcade entrances or what your own basementcades look like.
I'm going to go as far as tileing and painting the exterior wall to look as if it sits in a mall. And I hope to have a Aladdin castle sign reproed in a smaller size. I will post picks and updates.
Thanks

You really need to contact alex sierk, he is a orthodontist in bettedorf and his collections totals around 90 games between his 5 different offices and he is big on alladins castle stuff, he has the basement of one of his offices with a big alladins castle sign painted in a room and looks awesome

Man, those Aladdin Castle shots bring back memories. I used to go to one at a local mall. I always thought their tokens looked cool. I wish I was able to take pictures of the place BITD before it closed down.

Was this Aladdin's Castle some kind of arcade franchise? Don't remember any being in my area.

Yup, owned by Bally from the mid-70s to the early 90s before being merged with Namco. Supposedly, some locations still exist today. A quick Google map search brought up locations in the South and Midwest. No longer any locations on the West Coast.

I'm looking for acrylic letter being back lit more than neons.

Unless you get a used sign.. its gonna be cost prohibitive. When I priced out
whole sale pricing it was about $100 a letter for the standard 3D style.

You could do a standard square backlit sign with Red sign acrylic and
then have the lettering cut out of opaque vinyl and applied to the acrylic
blocking portions of the light. thats something you could build at home
mostly.. you need someone with a Vinyl cutter to help out.

Here's a picture of the recently closed Funland @ Trocadero in London. The site had a lot of entrances but it was one of the best arcades out there, closed over a dispute with the landlord >:|
