I bought this 220V phoniex game from Gamer4life. Thanks :)

This is an Odd little machine. It was design to run on 220 Volts. Trust me when I say this unit is not 115V friendly. Laughs.

Old Strange linear powersupply with not docs or specs Unknow maker. 3 voltages output two 5 volts and a 12 volt out put supply power supply. It's has 4 fuses in it.

So I take out the powersupply and meter out the transformer. I get 4.7 ohms off the 220V input leads. There is a 4 input terminals for this transformer using one side common I get 4.7 ohnms 13.5 ohms 13.5 ohms and 15.5 ohms.
I looking for the pair of leads that will give me double the resistance.
Between terminal 2 and 4 I get a little less then 10 ohms. Bingo!
Time to wire this guy up and tune it for maxium smoke :)

So I turn on the power supply remotely. Not that I am scared but when a sidewinder missle power supply blows up it will make these neat quarter size hole in the brick. So I give a Nice health distance to an Unknown power supply.

I get a Little yellow light. Cool.
I get a Nice little 12 volts but nothing else the other two led are dead.
I see a fuse missing. I swipe a fuse out of a dead Direct TV box (Great sources of tuner chips for the 501 Dishnetwork DVR box).
I get another Light and 5 volts. Great.
3rd Light still dead. Blown fuse. Replaces with a fuse from a dish network 501 power supply.

Traces down the power input for the monitor. The monitor is a 100V input. Odd On a 220V system? So I look at the isolation transformer. 100V output and 120V Input? Odd..
Trace down the imput and AC power is coming from the output of the linear powersupply.
How odd is that. 5 volt DC 12 volt DC and 120 Volt AC

Took out the 220V fan that laid across the input of the power supply.
Disconnected the light for the marquess. It's design for 220 not 115 volts.

Plug it back in and Flipped the swtich.
Heard a Blip and blew out the fuse.
Replace fuse with a slow blow fuse.
We got game...
Drop a quater in and played one game.

It still needs somework.
I need a cap kit for the monitor. It not stable and you can tell it waves a little.
The t Molding need some TLC it has shrunk over the ages and won't fit anymore.
I need to replace the Music chip in the game. I get play sounds but no music.
I need a transformer to replace the 220V marquess light.
I need to rewire the cab to clean it up.
I need to find a Shield button.

It's got an Internal light and socket. This is one of the neatest little cabinets I have run across.

Tested the spare Boards.
They work..
Replace the 6221 chip on the orginal board.
Now I got music.

I might have to remove the t molding and take Little sections from the back to fix the front t molding issue..

Now the thought did run across my mind maybe I should leave it at 220V and just use a Step up transformer to get this game running but personally I think just changing it over to 115Volts is just a bit safer then running one hands in a box that has 220V running through it.

Things replaced so far.
I replace the 220V socket in the machine to a single 115 volt socket.
I replace the 220V AC fan to a 115 Volt AC fan.
I replace the transformer in the marquee fro 220 to 115.
I replace the odd round eletrical socket with a computer stlye plug in the back.

This cab has been worked on before. I got a few cut wires just hanging out I wired up the serivice light in the cab.

Things that need to be done still.
Rewire the cab so the serivice light turns off when the cab is close.
Rewire the Control panel for lights. What the sense of having light up swtiches when they are not lite up.
Find a sheild button that matches the rest of swtiches on the control panel.
Monitor does need to be recapped.
Wire in the service swtich on the coin door.
Patch the holes and do a bond job on the cab.
Used some of the moilding in the back to replace the shrinking molding in the front.

Thanks you. It is a sweet little machine. I can see why people love these smaller arcade machine.
It was fun to convert it to 115 Volt.
I still need a few more parts to track them down.
It still needs a little bondo on the corner and on the back.

Not so sure I like the 115 Volt ac fan in the back. While it works and draws in air. It does make more noise then I am use too.
