PHOENIXARCADE storage and mancave under construction

My new house is in full swing under construction.

The walkout basement has 9' ceilings and approx 3200sq ft. About half of that set aside for the game room.

My storage for PHX is about 800sq ft connected to the basement but under the garage using prestressed concrete planks @6500psi. The full space is useable with no posts. I've become pretty efficient at storing my artwork so this is all the space I need. No more storage units. No more art under beds, in closets or in the garage.

I'm also putting in a 42x78 freight elevator that goes from the garage (main level) to the basement. I didn't extend the shaft to the 2nd floor since no games will be up there. No more killing myself moving games up and down stairs. I went with this size platform to fit deluxe games and drivers.

Wont be finished til Dec/Jan but here are some early photos.

A freight elevator in a private home? Now that's commitment!! Very, very cool.

Well it does serve other purposes. Like moving crates full of bezels and marquees. I have a few handicapped friends in wheelchairs and we used to carry them down to play games. Don't need to do that anymore. It was a bear!

Oh man, I'm quite envious of the garage floor! That's badass man. I'd so love to tear up my garage floor and extend the basement out into that space!

Nice

Cant wait to see the game room.

So...since I can't PM you thought I would just post in one of your smaller threads. Any plans to do an Elevator Action CPO in the near future ? :D

Here is a pic of the 1/2" rubber floor we installed in my new shop. There is about 800sq ft. Each roll is 300lbs and a bear to move.

I just need to mop up the drywall dust.

It did save 152 tires from going to a landfill.

Move in is last week of January. Moved 12x in 17 years of marriage. This will likely be the last one. Im tired.

Then you should have extended the elevator to the second floor. One day you'll be old!

I'm old now.

Master is on main level so I'm set there.

The freight lift was setup just to/from basement. Otherwise kids and their friends would be messing with it.

Hmmmm.... I work in Crowntown. I might have to give everyone here a full report when you get everything moved! ;)

Why don't you come on over and move my games for me LOL

I'll post pics after I'm settled. Gameroom/mancave gonna take til summer time to finish.

I have that same garage setup. It is a 3rd car garage attached to the house and directly under the main 2 car garage. We haven't had time to utilize it fully yet since we have only been here 8 months, but it is great for storage right now and will be cool this Spring! It has it's own furnace too so I can use it 365 if I want to.
