I spoke with a fellow KLOV'er on the phone the other night who told me I was not getting projects done fast enough and he grew impatient as were others.

There has been a long delay on some projects with Rich. He moved his business to a new location (bigger too) and got behind for various reasons. It would probably help if people weren't asking him to do one-offs or small projects. He wants to please everyone and that makes it hard to get everything done. After talking with Rich a few weeks ago I think he is back on track and working within timelines. I don't want to continue to overwhelm him so nothing new is given to him until he is caught up. I do use 3 other printers but I am not their only customer and even if I'm ordering 150 of something its a small project for them and there's no reason for them to push me to the front of the line. My main printer I can do this with since Ive used them for 12 years, but I rarely call that favor in. I'd rather use it for something time critical.

In all 2011 was a pretty stellar year for projects:

Centipede side art reprint
Classicade underlay reprint
TRON cpo reprint
TRON joystick insert reprint
Stern coin door decal reprint
Stern credit decal NEW
MsPac marquee reprint
Galaga marquee reprint
MsPac side art reprint
Pacman side art reprint
Asteroids Deluxe mini cpo NEW
Lunar Lander marquees NEW (all damaged, waiting on reprint)
Asteroids Deluxe upright side art NEW
Galaga cocktail glass NEW
MsPac cocktail glass NEW
Pacman cocktail glass NEW
Xevious cpo reprint
Xevious marquee reprint
Warlords cocktail glass reprint
Warlords cocktail cpo reprint
Track and Field upright cpo reprint
Guns N Roses pinball cabinet decal sets NEW
Marble Madness cpo NEW
System One side art reprint
Quantum side art NEW
Zookeeper side art NEW
XXXX licensed pinball cabinet decal sets for another vendor
XXXX licensed pinball cabinet decal sets for another vendor
XXXX cocktail underlays for another vendor
XXXX cpos for another vendor
XXXX marquees for another vendor

All 4 printers I use are currently busy with new or reprint projects of mine. I'm not able to go any faster than what I am. Anytime I've said I'm going to do a project it gets done. Rich and I will continue to work on the outstanding projects from last year by the end of March is what we agreed upon.

As always I appreciate your patience and apologize for those that are upset with me. I really am doing my best.

Thanks
Darin

Not sure who is complaining that things are not getting done fast enough but those who have been around for a while I think would generally agree that you take on and finish you projects in the most timely manner.

Some projects although quality drag on a very long time but generally yours seem to be completed and in the customers hand in a couple months tops once the green light has been given. Of course there are exceptions but IMO you have an exceptional record.

I would think anyone complaining is either impatient or new to collecting and has little idea of the reality of how things get done.

Darin, of coarse I can only speak for myself but Thank You for putting out the products that you have in the past and the ones that we will be looking forward to in the future. Don't be discouraged by the impatient, they're not worth it. I for 1 will always support yours, Richards & others on the newsgroup businesses.

I hope you told them to stuff it. Your products are awesome dude, just keep doing what you're doing. :D

You have done a lot of art, that's great, very cool. I have purchased a ton of stuff from you, thanks Darrin. It's also great your so busy and that there is still room for others to get to some other projects that are wanted. The Lunar Lander and the very recent Black Widow art come to mind.

Keep making cool stuff,

Thank you everyone. I was taken back by the comments that is was more than just him that felt that way. I'll repeat that some of the projects gave taken far too long to finish. Quantum made me ill, literally. We're catching up on Food Fight and Lunar Lander which has already been inkjetted but I dont feel that is a competitive product for me because my list of people still asking for it is kinda big. In fact I don't think I ordered enough of them.

I didn't promise a date on BW when I put it on my list in Sept 2011 because I took on some critical time sensitive licensed pinball projects and was hoping to give it to my main printer when those were done. After talking with Dan on the phone I decided not to go head to head against him and wish him the best with BW.

Just remember that when I say I'm going to do a project it will get done. Maybe not in the time frame some may like, but other than 2011 projects with Rich (which are now being rectified) nothing should take more than 3 months from the time I say it's headed for production.

I still plan on doing as many Atari Vectors and cabarets as Scott has films for. Even some titles that will scratch peoples heads, like Gravitar.

If you are looking for oddballs, i vote warlords standup! Films ever found for it? Was there ever a list of what films are so far known? It would be cool to see that and vote on it or something.

Darin's stuff is certainly worth waiting for...very high quality work, he takes pride in what he does, which sometimes means it takes a while for a quality product to go to market that meets his high standards.

Any chance of Zookeeper marquees or bezels being made?

In doing the vector stuff, is there enough demand for Black Widow marquees?

Thanks for all you do! This hobby is still cheaper than owning a boat.

Those people were incredibly rude and impatient! Thiss stuff takes time!
Hoping for a Pac-Man marquee int he future.
Sorry Darin for having to go through everything.

Films for ROTJ and dozens of other Atari projects are sitting here, waiting for the log jam to clear. To answer the same question for the 100th time- I have films for 99.8% of the Atari stuff. From the 70s to the 90s. It fills a 50 foot storage container. Sometimes finding a films location is a challenge due to time constraints and location. That will hopefully change this year.

The only thing holding production of accurate, correctly screened artwork for Atari items is time. Mine and the screeners.

Black Widow marquee films are in my office. CPO films need to be located. I have seen them in my stash of films, but won't have time to search for them for a couple months (or longer). Maybe there is some hope for at least getting those two pieces done properly. The inkjet overlays were not really authentic.

Scott Ill run the cpos and marquees for BW. Send the films or any of the Atari Vectors or cabarets. Ill get them done.

Thanks again, as always you're the KING!

Quarter arcade is doing the marquees, bezels and sideart would be awesome!

You know, I'm just happy that you, Rich, Brian, etc. al. are doing what you do. Just keep on putting out the quality work and let the impatient/naysayers fall by the wayside.

We depend on you guys for quality work, and I for one am happy to pay what it costs and to wait the time if it insures that we get 100% accurate screen print reproductions... it's worth it to me.

I'm detail oriented and really appreciate the finished products you guys put out. Commitment to the craft means everything.

Keep up the good work man!
