Phoenix Arcade MW CPOs

I was working a deal on the Films. Thats what I was afraid of. that the previous owner would come in and run them. Looks like im out, Cant afford to pay that much to purchase the films, only to compete with the person that originally sold them. Im out  Quartercade had some sideart left but they were starting to run low. I was going to run everything. Oh Well!! Good luck Phoenix Arcade!!!

Its time for something new anyway. Maybe we will go with something that includes Blaster!!

When you sell the films, don't you sort of sell the rights to product the artwork with them? I guess being it's a multi CPO it's a gray area... but...

Thats kinda what I thought. I had some concerns with quartercade selling the sideart, but the seller said it was old stock, and they were almost out. If the previous owner of the films keeps producing and selling, the films are worthless. I had a bad feeling about this from the beginning, and this is exactly what I was worried about. I even asked the Seller if Darrin still had a copy of these!!! I will be better off having my friend work up new vector file that includes Blaster.

Who knows maybe Darrin asked him if it would be alright to run a few?????????

When I bought a couple of the blank panels Darrin was selling 2+ years ago, it was with the understanding the new owner of the films was going to use them. Well, it's almost 3 years later, the films have changed hands a few times and I'm still waiting. Maybe I'm being selfish, but I'm just happy someone stepped up and delivered.

Understand your point. You want the overlay, I dont blame you. But you have to see how this devalues the films. Maybe he should buy the films back.

I wanted to sell a few games to pay for these films a month ago. Games were sold, but was waiting for them to pay and pick up machines. Im sooo glad now this did not happen last month.

Those films have changed hands I believe 3 times since Darrin sold them
in hopes someone else could run them. and I was the one of the first approached to buy the films
It wouldve been easier for me to screen and sell more then most and wouldnt have to rely on meeting anyones minium order. But was too buzy starting up D2K at the time
and Ive even quoted out 2 or 3 times pricing to others whi were interrested in purchasing the films and having me run them
the problem I think is when they started changing hands they relized how expensive or time consuming a 10 color silkscreen print was going to cost.
Personally I was never a big fan of the clustered mess myself.

Welp, I feel bad for whoever has the films now (Tanman?)... and from my perspective it was a bit of a dick-move for Darrin to run them again without purchasing said films back (unless he did...though his post gives the impression he did not).

So are there 2 sets of films? Doesn't Darin need a set of films to run the ones he did?!? I am confused....

I agree with Rich though, never have been a big fan of the MW CPO's.....

Aren't the films normally pictures of the actual artwork? So you can make more films any time you want from the original artwork? That is sort of what I remember from my Reprographics class a really long time ago. Of course I could remember wrong it was so long ago. I just remember printing some stuff out, creating some films from the print outs and running a bunch of copies for a project. I'm sure Rich will put me in my place. :D

Your Totally right FrizzleFried. Anyway I won't miss having to do the 12 or 14 color CPO's
I'll just save the material for something else :)

I'll have the Marquees done REAL Soon and offer the Bezel & Marquee combo for 100.00 Shipped USA & Canada.

Merry HO HO

This is the situation I was concerned about when the films sold originally.. just films are pretty much worthless, a miniscule part of the cost of doing print runs and don't convey ownership of the artwork. For it to be of real value you'd have to also take ownership of the original artwork as well which didn't happen here so basically someone paid a grand for less than a hundred bucks worth of art films that could have been reproduced using the file on localarcade if they wanted to considering the artwork ownership didn't come with the films anyway.
