Is there any inerest at all in starting a league in the greater Phoenix area? please post something and let me know. Is there another forum that has more people from Arizona? Any suggestions on how to start a league? Pleaase post any sugestions. Thanks Tim

I usually attend the monthly pinball tournament at Castles N Coasters.

As for ar arcade-specific league, I'm potentially interested. What did you have in mind?

Might be in, depending on what it is...?

Not a pinball guy, though. Just vids.

I have mainly pinballs. I have a defender video game and a baby Pacman hybrid. I love both pinballs and video games. There is a strong pinball league in the Phoenix area and I am interested in getting a series of events going with both pinballs and other arcade games including EM arcade and video games. There is already some other interested people in the pinball league and I am reaching out to those more on the video game side. I think there is enough interest. I have 2 homes lined up for next year. I would like to get more. These would be stand alone events. An event champion would be crowned, but not a season champion, so if you are more into video games that's cool. Just let me know if you are interested in hosting or have any ideas about it. Thanks, Tim

Why haven't I heard about this? Need details!

The next one is next Friday night (8/20). It starts at 6PM and usually lasts until 9:30 or so. It's $10 to enter and the winner gets a good chunk of the pot. 2nd and 3rd place also get prizes. There are typically about 25 or so guys in the tournament- with an occasional female or two sprinkled in. I came in 2nd once, but I've sucked the past couple of months.

I plan to be there next week, so you guys should come. Teams are randomly assigned at the tournament, and there are usually 7 machines chosen for the competition. The groups rotate machines to keep things moving. First place out of everybody on one particular machine gets 50 points, 2nd place gets 48 points, 3rd gets 46, and so forth. Your points on all of the machines get added up at the end of the night, and the person with the most points wins. It's a lot of fun.

As for the arcade tournament, it sounds like fun. Let me know if you decide to run with it. I may be down for hosting one at my house at some point.
A couple friends of mine and I were recently talking about having an arcade tounament where your "entrance fee" would be a used console game that we'd donate to a childrens hospital- and the winner would get a trophy. I think that would be pretty cool.

Hammer out the details and I'll show up. Especially if there are other EM collections here in AZ. I may be up for hosting too after the new room is built.

Trouble Maker? That's some strong words coming from the 3rd largest collector in AZ...:001_ssuprised:

Aesop has one of the nicest game rooms around, I just like to see pics of it. Reminds me of all the games he picked up from me!:D

I was wondering if you would like to meet at my house next week to discuss getting the league together? Thanks, Tim
