For the life of me, I cannot get into this game!

I played one of these bitd only a handful of times. More recently, fired it up on Mame. Still don't get it! It does have some pretty good audio though. But most, if not all, System 1 games do.

What am I missing here?

Of my favorite System 1 games... it actually bumped Road Runner from the least favorite spot.

I like the game alot.

Could be the music, not sure. I likek the graphics. It gets to be a challenging game. I like the concept too, and when you collect the items, the dancing rat to just too damn cute! LOL

I can see how people would not like it, but it a different game for it's day, which is part of the apeal to me I think.

MOST people who come over have never seen one before, and I think that is cool too.

It may help that I remember this from playing it in the arcade too.

It's a tough game. I was always pretty good at it but you have to learn when to be cautious and how to effectively throw things to stun the animals. Hitching a ride on a bat or owl's back is key to clearing the higher levels.

Yeah, it's one of my favs too, although if I ranked the System 1 games, it'd probably be 3rd behind Indiana Jones and Marble Madness. Road Blasters being last (don't really care for that one). Road Runner is kinda fun, but I like PP better.

This might make a good topic: rate your favorite System 1 games in order of preference.

For me it would be RoadBlasters, Peter Pack Rat tied with Road Runner, Marble Madness, and then Indiana Jones.

Never played PPR but my order would be

Indy Jones
Roadrunner
Marble Madness
Road Blasters

Not sure were PeterPackRat would fall.
