I have a pesky K7000 that keeps blowing the fuse.
I have
capped it, Replaced the Fly, new HOT, new D18, new safety cap C36........

Any suggestions where to turn next with this thing?

Yeah I thought about the voltage regulator. Its not getting any high voltage. after about 3 sec the fuse blows.
Mod,
I already tested D19-D22, all tested good.

Where is C38?

I'm going to put a new voltage reg on it, and report back after dinner.........

New Voltage Reg, no change......
New C38, it fired right up!!!
However now I can't seem to get a picture on it.....The screen is just bright and washed out, and I can't dial it in!?!
I will look things over and see if I missed something?!?!

turn down the contrast pot.. alto try turning down the coarse brightness on the flyback and adjust focus while your there..

your almost there man

also posting a pic of the screen as it shows now might help us point you in the right direction

Yeah I did....
I'm starting to think now I have a tube issue!??
What are some symptoms when the tube starts shitting out?
The is pretty much the best picture I can get....you can see the game VERY faintly playing in the back ground.
Oh and I ran my degausser over it.....didn't phase the "Rainbow" seen in the pic.......
I'm going to let it run for an hour here and see if the picture improves as it all comes up to temp....

wooah milky white hey?
did you by chance install a lytic cap kit on top of your repair and forget to solder one down?. game singal processing / amp stage problems are pretty rare in the k7000.

No, my work on the cap kit it sound.
I have a working K7000 chassis, I'm going to hook up to that tube today and report back......

Still haven't swapped the known good chassis to this tube, and this chassis to a known good tube. When I do, I will report it in this thread.......

Make sure the contrast pot isn't cracked, and that the focus wire you attached to the neck socket is on good. Oh, and check the pins on the neck for any missing or bent ones...

Scary enough I got a simular issue on a k7000. I've repaired alot of K7000's and this is a first for me. I can see the game, won't focus right. All new caps and flyback. Reflowed everything possiable. (tipical maintaince on a k7000) I swaped tubes with simular issue. I'm gonna eyeball my work as well.. but this one is new to my books.

I figured mine out. The problem was on the Neck board. I happened to have a few spare neck boards... swapped it out and I have one of the sharpest pictures I've seen on a k7000.
