I have a Sanyo 20EZ that I can dial in the B+ at 108 but it will display a really bad flag wave at that setting. If I up the B+ to 109 or 110, the flag wave will not be nearly as bad but the display will be a little shakey. Any higher than 110 and it goes into HV shutdown. I have replaced the B+ pot, the B+ filter, done a cap kit, replaced the VR, and replaced the IC606. When I turn up any of the three brightness pots, the B+ will go down. Is that normal? I thought it should be the other way around. Any ideas where to go from here to dial in the B+ to 108 yet still get a stable picture?

Thanks for the help.

This is what I keep coming back to. I'll have to get another and try it. I ordered my last through Bob Roberts but maybe I'll check elsewhere. Any ideas where to get a good IC601?

It could be a bad ic601. I had a similar issue, put my old ic in and resolved it.

I had the same flag wave issue and not being able to adjust the B+ properly with the IC601(LA5112) from Bob Roberts.

The one I ordered from Riptor at http://www.twistywristarcade.com/misc-ics/380-la5112-.html and installed in the Sanyo 20ez for my Donkey Kong is still working great. Flag wave is gone, picture is stable and I am able to adjust the B+ where I need it to be.

Great thanks. I'll give it a try. I appreciate the link.

Currently there are a lot of bad new IC601's out there, if you have the old one put it back in and try it again.

unfortunately I don't. I ordered from riptor and am crossing my fingers. I will report back how it goes.

Sadly, I think we need currently need a sticky for this. This has been going on for a long time.

Do not buy a LA5112 from Bob Roberts.

I can't emphasize enough the importance of saving all parts removed from a chassis, until the rebuild has been completed and tested working 100%.

Yeah, I read that and for me, it still comes back to my flag wave only disappearing after I replaced the LA5112 for the second time. The second time being from another source other than Bob Roberts. I had already done the other things mentioned on that page and couldn't get rid of it. Nothing else changed on the chassis or with the wave until I replaced that part again.

With that being said, it could've perhaps been a faulty trace solder by myself on the first one, but I take my time and check my work. All I know is that with the help of KLOV, the wave is gone and I am happy.
