How do you configure the sounds of your games. Do you use a decibel meter to get every game in your collection at the right volume or do you wing it and play it by ear, pun intended. :D

I usually just set them up how I think it would sound good then of course turn them all on invite ppl over to play and you'll begin to see what ones are higher and need to lowered or vise versa...Over time you'll get it right where you want it, or at least what sounds most like a memory of an arcade used to.

i turn them all up pretty high and then of coarse crank the donkey kong as high as it will go like every other god forsaken arcade back in the day!!! you could hear a dk from halfway down the mall!!

i like them loud enough that you can hear with a room full of people but not cranked. never thought of using a decibel meter. i should get one of those to see how loud my band plays hahaha/

I wonder if that has anything to do with Donkey Kong's "Digital" audio in combo with the analog stuff? I would think there were plenty of digital audio games back then though, so maybe ops just liked turning that one up.

Pretty quiet actually, just enough to hear all the game sounds while playing. All at about the same level. No attract sounds either. I find it much easier to live with that way.

i cranked the background music the way i liked it then went around one game at a time-twice-so that when i was in front of the game i could hear it but not hear it a few games away, if that makes sense. itll takr a little bit but youll get em just right. of course all attract sounds are ON...

I crank all my games really loud !! I wanna experience the games when I play them .

I have the attract mode on, on all of my games. I turn them up enough so you can hear the game clearly if you're playing it but low enough that it doesn't distract you if you're playing a different game next to it.

I'm sure most people use a decibel meter. Kidding.

I just adjust them to reasonable settings where I can still hear other things going on and it won't keep the kids awake upstairs.

Play it by ear most of the time. If Im drinking I tend to turn up the shooting games other times it hurts my ears so there turned down really comes down to prefferance.

you have to use attract sounds to get the authentic feel, but low enough that when you crank the jukebox, you just hear the music

i turn them all very low, have my "jukebox" a little higher so that everyone can talk and so on. Had a craps game last night, noone played the games just craps but having them on made the whole night even better and it was low enough everyone could talk/call bets and such
