So I finally find a source of cabinets in Hawaii, and I make a deal with the guy on some repairs, conversions etc to get access to a few machines...I order the parts and then...nothing. So I'm sitting on some multiboards, not really rolling in dough living on a resident's salary in Hawaii, and trying to figure out if I should just go stop by this guy's house or what. How long do you wait before unreturned phone calls warrant a stop by and "Hey, how are you, want to get this thing moving?" When I left him last weekend I said "I'll order the boards up, they should be in by midweek and we can get them installed next weekend..."
AAAARRRGGGGHHHH!!!!

He did tell me where his games on route are....hmmm...lol

You have been in HI long enough to know that nothing gets done in a hurry if a local is involved. Best example: "Aloha Friday" Try and find any local that works past noon on any given Friday.

Yeah, but I can't complain too much about Aloha Friday, I mean, I was home by 9am :) I hear you, I just can't really afford to get stuck with the parts I have. However, I did spend the last two days on the beach while my friends in MN were dealing with colder weather. But wait a minute, Super Auctions was this weekend in MN, I'm loosing all over :(

If you need to move the stuff to free up your cash, contact the flake and put it into terms he can understand such as... "Bra, we need to get this deal done so WE can make some money."

This guy has no clue what he's doing, and I'm already helping him make some cash so I don't know why he's flaking, all I want is to make a deal for this damn MC/Centi/Milli he has...aahhhh

I haven't gotten into the whole "Bra" thing, but it does help to know lingo when you are talking to patients at the hospital, especially when you are taking in the wonderful drunk atv we are going to cut you leg off ones....

If you want anything in HI, you have to play the game or it will never get done. I served my 4 years down at PH, and could get anything anytime. My wife on the other hand couldn't get shit done for 4 years because she wouldn't play the game.

It hurts to be Haole... but it helps to be a doctor, oh well we'll see. Hoping this works out, but man Hawaiians do move like molasses. Especially driving, not used to Highways with 45mph limits!!!
