People who deliver door flyers = thieves and arcade stuff

I was about 14 and one time the ups guy asked if I could take the package for my neighbors across the street and said yes. I gave it to them as soon as I seen them later that night. I was a little shit back then but my one rule was to never fuck around in my own neighborhood so I could never be blamed for anything.

I am fairly certain it is not a local person doing this. A low traffic neighborhood in which most people work during the day.

Definitely a 'crime of opportunity' by transient (to the neighborhood) people. The come in and pass out fliers/solicit and then move on.

May be time for a "No Trespassing" sign as well. :)

i delivered pizzas for a year or two and one of the worst things they made us do was door hang flyers. i didnt mind delivering pizzas, because people were ordering them and i was providing a service. that was my job, to deliver pizzas. i thought what they were making us do was pimp pizzas. thats not the job i signed up for, to go onto strangers private property without being invited. i did not apply for a job as a solicitor. none of the drivers i worked with wanted to do it.

ahhhh, Papa Johns. I always did it because the bastards said I'd have to stand on the corner holding a sign if I didn't door hang. That was the beginning of the end for me at that place.

"Plop a" John's....cause that's what you'll be doing in the bathroom if you eat too much of their pizza.

I guess I'm a little nutty, but I'd bait and tackle them. I would love to catch some asshole stealing a package from me. I'm far from a "badass" but hell, I think it would be fun to "catch a thief" and work them over for a bit.

Wow, what a frustrating story.

These wouldn't really be worth the cost, but it'd be great if you could set a UPS box on your doorstep with one of those explosive ink bombs inside, or one of those small GPS trackers security companies sell.

That sucks man recently I mailed a ps3 game to a guy. He emailed me and said it never arrived but tracking said otherwise he contacted his mailman and post office and they were no help. In the end never found out what happened to it.

I used to live in a apartment complex that consisted of eight units in the entire building. About 8 years ago there my brother and I ordered over $300 worth of weightlifting supplements. Well one day while the both of us were at work there was a little posty note on the door confirming the item and what not. Guess what; no box! Of course this was UPS that delivered so I called up and say where's the item? Delivery guy said he left it by the door. Mind you this was suppose to be signed for! I went to the UPS office in town, chewed the guy running the branch a new ass and of course he didn't care. I should mention that we had a shady neighbor across the door from us who I swear they were the epitomy of white trash. Of course they denied it but to this day I was sure it was them-probably sold it for drugs....Went back and forth with UPS about a refund and finally the supplement company had to pony up a new order... Long story short UPS sucks ASS!!!!!

im not sure i want to post the link because its extreamly NSFW, foul language, ect

but next time your on youtube search "jigga jones free christmas packages"

the whole thing is a "comedian" who pretends to be a gangsta and tells you funny ways to rip people off for stuff. in that video he explains backing your car up to unattended usps/sps trucks, poping your truck and getting some free stuff for the holidays

he had another video out about sticking diffrent numbers on gas pumps and when someone prepays on what they think is pump 5 for example, your car is going to parked at the real #5 and you pump all their gas before they notice lol

The missing package was waiting for me today. I suspect the postman scanned it and it was 'lost' for a while and then found. I got my HV probe. :)

It had a postmark of 4/15 and was sent priority and shown delivered.

So, my apologies to the flyer people/solicitors this time.
Still hope the LEO's will keep an eye peeled, though.

It does happen.

I had a package marked delivered on a Monday. It was insured and marked "signature required" by the shipper. I stopped by the post office a week later to inquire about the package. Their records showed it as delivered, but no signature, so I filled out the insurance forms. Two days later the supervisor delivered it to me and when I pressed him about where it was for a week and a half, he said that it was lost in the mail carrier's truck.

I have also had a package disappear from my doorstep (it was a wiring harness). Just for grins, I checked down the street in the construction dumpster (the neighborhood was still under construction). Sure enough there was the box and the wiring harness. They must have opened it up and saw the wires and threw it into the nearest dumpster.

On the other hand, I have had UPS dropped off a 40" LCD TV that was marked "signature required" with no signature. And just to be helpful, he turned to sideways so the markings on the package were clearly visible from the street. I guess it was too tempting because it was still there when I got home from work.

Fedex isn't much better. They sent me a postcard asking me for my address so they could drop off a box, even though they had been to my house 3 time in the previous week. And the address on the postcard was the same address as the address on the shipping label and on the side of my house.

Ironically these days people are jumping into dumpsters looking for wires... Good to hear you got the harness back YD

When I lived at an apartment complex and did alot of track days with my motorcycle, I ordered race tires and god knows what from ebay and they ALWAYS left it in front of my door and we were in a bad apartment complex. Surprisingly nothing was ever stolen. Probably becauase we were 2nd floor. Neighbors below us had their kids bikes stolen a few times but they kept leaving them out in the breezeway. thieves do suck though but thats what bullets are for.

I love it when they do that. If they send you a postcard, obviously they have your address.
