People re-selling Groovy Game Gear's Tron handles on eBay

This is happening a lot lately. It's frustrating because Randy put forth a lot of effort to reproduce these handles and they are NOT meant for resale. He sells them for $25 on his site, and then these jokers mark them up for three times that amount on eBay. Look how the description makes it sound like they produced it too. Lame.

I'm going to report the auction as they steal written content directly for the GGG web site. Everybody that feels like meddling should ask the seller why he's trying to capitalize on someone else's hard work.

eBay is the oasis of the lazy, and a prime example of a supply and demand economy unfortunately. The existence of people with a higher supply of money than they have of brains or initiative will always create a demand for a wave of opportunists with a little bit of info and some starting capital. By all means report the auctions, but it ain't gonna do a lot of good to stop this kind of crap. Though I think this conversation has happened several times on this board already.

*e* and honestly I don't think ebay's gonna give a shit unless a copyright holder steps in, so it'd be interesting to see if they even pull the auction, copy/paste of written content or not. If Randy reported the copy used in the description, they might spend more than 2 seconds thinking about it before hitting "ignore" on the ticket.

*e2* and since this thread is going to go this way, I'll get the ball rolling so we can expedite it's burial. Reguardless of Randy's intent in manufacturing these, this isn't any different than someone getting a game at an auction or wherever and flipping it to some rich idiot for $1500+. Would it piss me off to sell a machine to someone only to see them CL flip it for 3x the price? Sure. But it's a side-effect of a free market and short of written contracts signed/sealed/notarized/etc with every sale and aggressive inspection of people's homes to make sure they're not flipping these items, it isn't going away.

*book* I'm not trying to be a dick about this, I just see this (and similar) come up with way too much regularity and it's absolutely useless getting overexcited about something that we can't do shit about. Only thing I can think of offhand would be for Randy to sell these himself directly through ebay at his normal price to torpedo the profit margin of those reselling them.

Not that I agree with it, but atleast he is using his own pics and not the pics right of the GGG website like the last jackass was....

Not that I agree but I thought it was a good time for this....hahaha

I don't have a Tron / probably won't ever get one... (Even though I did love the game) But I still want one of these handles! :D

...is that wrong?

While I definitely don't agree with what this douche is doing (especially pinching the wording direct from the GGG site), if someone bought it, then it's their own fault/ignorance.

If you type "Tron Reproduction Handle" into Google, the GGG website is the first thing that pops up.

Randy should just put his on eBay and trump the seller. Unless the guy is willing to take a loss on it Randy should easily take all the sales from him. Unless Randy would rather be the wholeseller in which case this is normal.
