People are buying from RAM Controls again??? WTF?

Im here to help the community as whole for the love of the game.
My choosing to Black List those who choose to buy and Support Ram
is a point I want to make perfectly clear and want everyone to know where I stand.
obviously I wont know every single person that buys from Ram unless outed here.

But my time, values, and product are worth more to me than helping those who only care about themselves and obviously not the community that was screwed out of thousands.

The "Ram Effect" will live on proably as long as the hobby itself.
Its divided collectors, made sales/preorders alot harder (for EVERYONE) and has made the hobby/fourms alot less fun.
Thanks Dave and Dan...I mean Adam and Jim or who ever you guys are this week

I second this. Granted I do not make anything except problems but I generally feel the same way.

Tom

Just curious, am I the only one who read this:

People making "black lists" and calling other members by vulgarities with tough talk about face to face confrontations is BS. .... If others don't want to deal with them as a result so be it, but this gang up shit like you're in some kind of clan straight outta Compton is pathetic...... It's one thing to voice your opinion about RAM, but outward deliberate attacking of other members for their own personal collecting decisions is well, just damn annoying.

And was just holding my breath waiting to see this within the next 2-3 posts:

blah blah blah

LOL :p

I know its been discussed before, and I have zero data to back up any sort of discussion, but the Ram crap doesn't affect my sales/preorders any worse than before.

If ToG is taking pre-orders for something I want/need (and I have the spare cash, etc) I wouldn't hesitate to load up paypal.com. That goes for Darin and a number of others.

Now, if someone shows up with no history and 0 postings, then yea there is caution. Not necessarily the Ram effect, but maybe. I guess there were people bitten by the tron neon a year ago.....

I don't know any of the entities personally, just based on their products and postings here. As far as I know, they/you could have a crisis IRL and go off the deep end and disappear with money. Its the Internet-effect, AFAIC.

But, again, I don't have any basis to form this opinion, but just because you guys are in the same hobby/industry as Ram controls, I don't think there is "guilt by association".

Some people are crooks/slime, its unfortunate.

So If you wanted to go a head and buy some Stock and have Bernie Madoff invest for you as well. Since Adam is doing the exact same thing with Arcade parts rather than stock shares.

You should feel comfotable doing that as well.
I am sure he could use the funds to pay his lawyers.

If you feel like just throwing your Money away send it to any truly needy charity.
At least you would be helping to do some good.

Everytime I try to rationalize how people can continue to be scammed even when certain types of scams or certain people have been called out a million times...I am reminded why these scams continue to work time and time again...people really are just fucking stupid

That is all.

And what is really sad is those who ordered... and got their stuff... are likely sitting behind their monitor rationalizing to themselves... "b...b...but hey... I got my stuff!"... not "getting it". Or they just subscribe to the "I got mine" mentality and just don't give a rats ass.

It's kind of like having dinner at a middle eastern restaurant whilst knowing that the owner is illicitly sending funds to Al-Qaeda.

Whenever anyone buys stuff from RAM, they should consider whether or not they would donate to the RAM controls legal defense fund. It's pretty much the same thing.

buying from ram shouldn't happen until they square everyone up!

not even then. they should be made to pay up, take thier punishment, and that's about it.

Good slow-day entertainment, thanks guys....

So is there any pinball-side equivalent of RAM that's just anathema to everyone? Would like to try to avoid the harakiri/seppuku exhibited on this thread if there is, lol. I'm not aware of any, but god forbid I order a part from the wrong place and didn't know it. Then again, if there is such a place, they'd probably have a sticky too, and be fairly obvious to find out they were a bunch of scamming dicks. :|

I wonder what kinds of deals they'll have for their "Incarceration Blow Out Sale"?

The email I received:

Dear Bradley,

Ram Controls is having a One Year Anniversary Sale!!!

A one year anniversary sale you ask? I thought the company has been around for years.

While Ram Controls has been producing reproduction arcade parts for many years, new management took over the company operations on March 15th, 2011. Since that time we have processed hundreds of orders from new and returning customers and have worked diligently to remedy any issues left over from the previous ownership. This year looks even better. We have started production on several new products and hope to release them soon. As a celebration of our one year anniversary we are offering a 20% discount off any order of $25 or more from now until March 15th, 2012.

If you have been waiting for a good time to stock up on parts for your classic arcade games, the time is now!

Use coupon code: AN202012

Remember this sale ends March 15th, 2012 so act now!

The fine print:

This sales is for new orders only. Existing store credit is already discounted and cannot be used for this promotion. Shipping charges are extra and are not discounted. This promotion ends on March 15th, 2012. Email us at [email protected] if you have any other questions.

If you have ordered any products and controllers from years past and have not received them, please contact us at [email protected] We want to take care of you!!!

If you received this email in error or wish to be removed from this list please email us at [email protected] and we will remove you from any future mailings.
