many of you may have already seen this on Kotaku but I thought I'd post that here.

Wow. According to the Article, this will be an Arcade game? How big is that cabinet???

Guess it's time to plug my modernization of the game: :D

EDIT: Ok, dug through enough links and saw that it's a Two Player cab, and that they appear linked.

That's cool, but pretty odd that they would pick Pengo for this.I'd rather play that Darius Blast. That looks sick!

4 linked sit down j-cabs is awesome. but it must be a fortune for such a retro game

I also can't see these being all that successful in an arcade... the space footprint for a single game is too large. It at least wouldn't work here in the US (yes, i know it said limited release).

They could've at least updated the visuals. I don't quite understand what Sega is doing here. Are they just copying Pacman Battle Royale?

That's exactly what it is although as was discussed in the other Pengo thread, it would have made a little more sense to make an 8p cabinet.

Microsoft Surface needs to be an arcade game. Something like this could work for 8 people.

For an in-person multiplayer game, you'd generally want to be pretty close to everyone you're playing (I say "generally" because in Japan, with fighting games the cabs are set up so that you don't see who you're playing against). 4 2-player linked cabs seems pretty strange, and it wouldn't have the appeal that 4-8 linked Daytona USAs does by any means. It really should just be 8 people huddled around one screen.
