My Pengo board had a problem with EPROMS 2 and 4 a while back, but was remedied after re-seating them.

Now I've been moving the cabinet around a bit in the garage, and it's come back up with a EPROM 2 error.

This game is fixin' to sell, and I don't want to pawn off a problematic board. So I'm wondering if you guys think this chip is just going bad, or if I should re-seat again, clean the connections, possibly re-flow the socket, and secure the game board (board wasn't secured when moving cabinet...)

Thoughts? Thanks in advance!

Sounds like a dodgy socket to me, perhaps dirty/corroded pins on the ROM/EPROM. Could also be a dodgy track somewhere, but I'd say that the socket is the likely culprit, so it ought to be replaced.

The manual doesn't differentiate the EPROMS. Anybody know where EPROM 2 would be located. There are 3 of them, but I can't tell all the ROMS and EPROM chips apart...

I'm gonna try and throw an order together of several sockets to make it worth the shipping. Are there some common sizes amongst these boards that I should invest in for hobby repair?
