Pending Upgrade Issues - Bug Reports

cysnake,

Proxy Block. That is quite unfortunate to hear! If anyone else is having this problem I'd love to hear about it.

I'll have to look further into that one.

Not a bug per se, but is there any way to show in a post reply exactly which user you are replying to (without using the quote feature?

Sometimes, especially in the repair section where others with similar issues chime in for help, we'll get multiple conversation paths going at the same time, and it would be helpful to know exactly who an answer is intended for, or who a response is directed at (in other forum topics)....

Proxy problems.

Anyone still having proxy problems? Please send me a private msg.

I am blocked on one network I use at work. It is the only network I am able to use at every worksite and the one I use most often.

Any way to adjust the 60 seconds between PM replies? I had a few messaes last night and was trying to reply to them. Having to wait 60 seconds between each was anoying.

Ok... Several people have mentioned that when the reply to a private msg that there isn't a name to reply to and it has to be filled in.

I just looked at it very briefly. As far as I can tell, this issue only arrises when responding to a private message that came in BEFORE the upgrade. Responding to private messages that came in today don't seem to be affected.

Does this observation match other people's experiences here?

I got the semicolon thing when trying to reply to a NEW (post upgrade) PM. I had to hunt down the person's profile, and manually start a new PM to respond. It seems to have been a one-time occurence though. I just tried to replicate it, and the guys name was there.

Found one.
In the private message area while viewing all of your messages if you go to the bottom right theres a button that says Go (50). Click that without having any of your messages checked. You are presented with a page that asks you to create a custom folder.
If you click the live Here link on that page, you get an error page if you try to create this custom folder.

Error says: Firefox can't find the server at private.php

Has anyone else noticed that the links in the email notifications are incorrect? Almost looks like they're local links, which obviously won't work for us. For those curious, though, you can just copy and paste the link it does give you (after the //) behind http://forums.arcade-museum.com/ and that'll take you there.

For example:

Dear Mattroid,

noice87 has just replied to a thread you have subscribed to entitled - How Do You include a picture in a response? - in the KLOV Chat About Almost Anything forum of International Arcade Museum and KLOV Forums.

This thread is located at:
//showthread.php?t=81671&goto=newpost

Here is the message that has just been posted:

Got it thanks.

There may also be other replies, but you will not receive any more notifications until you visit the forum again.

All the best,
International Arcade Museum and KLOV Forums

Also, and this may have been mentioned (and really isn't a big deal in the grand scheme of things), did the thread view counts not get converted over accurately? All old threads seem to have a view count of the number of replies + 1. So if there were 100 replies to a thread that may have had 3000 views, the current view count is 101.

My assumption is that this is a limitation of the move. Something like the conversion took the number of replies and made that the view count, then when the post was actually moved over, that accounted for one additional "view" and added that "+1" Or something like that :p

This can be seen here, as we ALL know noice's date thread and my Wii thread had a hell of a lot more views than that :p

In the IAM Mechanical Music and Jukebox Forum, it seems to be auto sorting by thread title rather than date posted, while all of the other forums seem to be sorting by date.
Not sure if this has been brought up before or not, since that forum isn't visited as frequently. Even when changing the display options at the bottom of the page, once you click on a post, and then go back to the topic list, it reverts back to sorting by thread title...

Found another.
Attempt to login but do not put in a password, or incorrect password. The next screen you will see is telling you the login was bad. On that page there is a link that says "Forgotten your password? Click here!". If you click that link, you get an address not found page.

I am back up and running fully at work. I have been in a sort of read-only mode for a couple of weeks; I could log in and read posts but there was no access to make posts, edit posts, pm, or the User CP. It all appears to be functioning now.:D

I imagine this is because the login stuff is custom and not what is built into vBulletin by default. It's minor, but should probably be corrected in the future to avoid any confusion.

This is a thread to let us know of pending upgrade issues.
Thanks

Found an odd "bug". Is this where I should post it, if not someone send me a PM of where to put it.

I found one occasion where when you edit a post you made it says "VOTE NOW" instead of "SAVE" here is a picture.
attachment.php

Here is how I can reproduce it.
Go to a thread where you have made a post.
Select someone else's thread you would like to "Quote" (I've always tried on the same page of posts) click "QUOTE", copy their quoted post (haven't tried not copying it) hit back on your browser and click EDIT on your post. The button will say "Vote Now"

I've done the above in two different threads, but have not tried many different variables.

OK tried a few different things. This does not happen in FireFox3, only tested in Safari 3.2.1. Happens every time (I've checked multiple threads now), you don't have to copy the other persons text. Just hit QUOTE, go back, and hit EDIT. I'm guessing I never noticed this before because I always open the QUOTE in a new tab, today I didn't.

EDIT: Just tried on a different Mac (iNtel, this ones still PPC) and it does the same "VOTE NOW" on that computer also.
Started to think maybe it was just a glitch on this one computer with how it cached the image, but not so since it does it on different computers.

Here's a new one I am having problems with today. When I try to reply to a thread sometimes it works and sometimes it does not. When it doesn't I get a http 501 not implemented/http 505 version not supported error when I hit post reply.

If you hit back on the post you made and try again, does it keep happening? But then it might not if you change that post or make a different one? If so, I've noticed this once since the move as well (can't remember the exact error I received now), but this was a more common problem on the old forum (the error was generally "Bad Request"). The good thing about this forum is that if you hit back in your browser, at least your post will still be there to modify. The old forums just whipped it completely.

Anyway, it may be something in your post specifically. The old forum didn't like what could be interpreted as SQL code. The one time I've seen this issue on this new forum software, I couldn't identify the issue with my post, but when I removed the second half of my post, I was able to get around the error. So it was something in that text specifically, but I didn't see anything that I thought could be the issue.

In other words, I don't have a solution for you, but the best way is to take parts of your post out and try to apply it again until you figure out which part of your post is the problem. Then try to narrow it down further. Maybe I'll try to go back and paste in that part of my post I mentioned that gave an error and see if I can narrow it down more (I still have it as it was something that was copied and pasted from another site).

Edit: Well, I tried pasting it in here again and the error did not occur. Maybe it was a flute at the time or perhaps when putting it in when editing a post it allows it for some reason. Weird.

All the things you said seem correct. If I hit the back button I can try again but I usually get the same message.

I can leave that post, go into another forum, and I don't have the issue in the other forum.

I was also thinking about it had something to do with what I was trying to post. I tried lots of times to post the same thing with no success yet when I just tried to post "Does this work", it worked every time.

It was interesting that this was the first time I have expereinced this either with the old system or the new system.

As I can't respond to your Update threads in the other sub-forums, nor can I start a new one here, I'm putting this in this thread, as it may be the most relevant (but maybe not).

With your current updates to searching on KLOV/IAM, is there any way to lift or extend the 50-results-limit? Either have a "next page" or something? Nothing like trying to remember a game with some descriptive words, and getting so many responses that you only get to the results that start with D, and can never see any other results.
