PCB Project Ideas?

And while we're throwing out ideas/daydreaming -- and at the risk of a Matt Osborn bitchslapping since I've nagged him a bajillion times about a HSS kit :D -- my dream kit is an Outrun/Turbo Outrun multi with high score kit. Hell, even throw Power Drift in there while I'm dreaming.

:) I'm not gonna touch Outrun.... I doubt Mark will either. Maybe there's some Outrun-lovin' tech nerd out there somewhere....

Multi-vector; every vector on one pcb with selectable menu that has the ability to hide games that are not compatible with your controls...

Do what JROK did for Williams for SW/ESB ;)

yeah I know... not quite the same... but man would it be great to integrate them boards down to a reasonable size... analog portion probably wouldn't change much...

I would like an Asteroids multi-kit. Obviously having Lunar Lander in there would be awesome, but even just Asteroids and Asteroids Deluxe in a kit with 10 entry high scores would be worth some cash to me.

I don't have any problem buying or building a JTAG programmer. What device are you using?

I actualy built some JTAG programmers (parallel port) that work quite nicely with the xilinx software :)

I should buy a USB programmer so I'm not tied to old hardware though.

+1 on the multi vector, especially if it has/fits Omega Race.

That's one of the hardest clean PCB's to come by. Even if it was OR and NOTHING else, a bunch of us would buy it, but the tempests, star trek, tac/scan, etc, would certainly make it sweeter.

+1 on the Multi-JAMMA+, too. I have a pile of parts and plan to someday make a 4 player multi-jamma, but I've been dreading the all the issues of having some JAMMA+ in the mix.

How about a Nintendo 3-in-1 switcher for Punch-Out!, Super-Punch-Out!, and Arm Wrestling. Or a 2-in-1 switcher for Mario Bros. and Popeye. Or let me know what components I'll need and I'll try to make some.

The Asteroids multi-game and Omega Race mutli-game(single-game) mentioned previously sounds interesting to me.

You also sparked interest in another thread when you said something about Jr. Pac-Man included in a multi-Pac... that'd be cool too. ;)

How bout a 60 - 1 multi board, with the crap games removed and some better games added to the mix?

I'm going with:
Jow, with the VS. HSS kit
and Phet, with the multi Q*bert jamma.

I also had a question.
How many Vs boards does the Vs. switcher switch? 2,4 ?

Thank you for the better 60 in 1 multi suggestion. There are SOOO many great games that be great on the 60 in 1.

And IMHO, the 100 in 1 board has nothing I'd want. I'd much rather have the other games we're talking about here, such as zookeeper.

And if you want to make a new multi and not a switcher, how about:
2 player multi (snow bros, WoW, etc)

and instead of the multi-jamma+, how about xx-in-1 4 player multi (Gauntlets, NBA's Jams, Quartet, Simpsons...)

Or a multi double trackball (marble madness, boot camp, blades of steel...)

Ok, one more xx-in-1
Multi-Track and Field (hyper sports, 88 games, etc.)

once you get past the 60 - 1, all the other XXXX - 1 suck balls. There's little if any classics on those boards, just modern shooters and fighting games..how bout a 60 - 1 horizontal? lots of cool games to fill that!
