PCB identification please, Defense Command bootleg love baby.....

K, so finally created my adapter, plugged her in and the 4 led's flash twice, and nothing comes on the screen.

Any ideas?

Need to scope out your VID OUT section. At least the board indicates PASS. Try to credit it up and listen if it plays "blind". Might want to double check "your adapter". :)

I just triple checked my adapter, and it is all correct...

I did notice on the video pcb underneath some trace wires. Wonder what they were done for, factory mod?

Maybe they messed with the sync.

I also coined up and heard nothing :(

Looks like it's separating the sync into H and V components.
And it's probably not coining up because it's in the setup screens.

So, to get out of the setup screens, he just needs to "ADVANCE" assuming he has those programming buttons incorporated into the harness, yes?

Looks like they did a mod on the top of the video board as well and added some resistors above that area.

Can you guys confirm if the resistors on the top and bottom are part of that mod or original?

Also, in theory, if they did all 4 of those resistors and jumpers, if I remove them, I should get picture, correct?

You can also get past that if you quickly power cycle (or hit the reset button, if it's there). You'll have to install batteries if you don't want to do that every time.

I recently found another 5 of these Defence Commsnd pcb sets. Plays and looks identicle to Defender. Too cool.

I'll sell 4 of them if anyone is interested in buying a Defender bootleg.

Very cool Matt, thanks for confirming. I was reading through some old cases on Casetext.com, and came across this one concerning Williams and Artic (which you linking to earlier in the thread).

Pretty decent illustration on the marquee it looks like. Would be interested to hear, if you remember, how you came to acquire the parts / artwork you have.

So long ago... I don't recall. Back then we were visiting local operators and helping them clean out all their "old crap". ;) I'm pretty sure the artwork came from one of those hauls. Some of it was NOS too. I remember pulling the paper from either the marquee or the plexi CPO (or maybe both?).
I remember the CPO did not come from the same place as the marquee. It's pretty interesting... it's not either of the Willis ones you typically see. I should dig it out and take a pic.
