I dont usually talk about my 'scores' but this one was pretty significant and I think is somewhat historic if your around mass.

Saw a guy in belchertown mass make a Facebook marketplace post about some arcade 'motherboards' for sale. He mentions 3 boxes and a few titles for $250 with pictures of maybe 5 or so boards in a flat box.

I responded as quickly as possible saying im interested. Turns out he had close to 30 boxes of boards. He owns an estate sale company and apparently a repair tech for an arcade ""Just Fun had recently passed away and left a bunch of boards. Ill have to do some research but the guy said he used to work around just fun as a attendant in the 80s and they had 3 locations in mass. The boxes actually still have shipping labels on it to the arcade.

We agreed on a price for the lot - sight unseen and I was there within a matter of hours from when he posted.

I didnt go through all the boxes when I was there but many of the boxes are branded and a mix between 80s and 90s titles. He had some in a van and it was sunny so I also didnt want to open them to expose to UV. I peaked in and handful and just dropped the cash.

Even though its a gamble, im looking forward to see what's there. They were stored flat so the plan is to get a bunch of usps boxes and get them organized and upright, then test, then sell anything I dont want (jamma).

I might need some help IDing so I was thinking of live streaming the unboxing. I dont know how entertaining that would be as im not a youtuber but could be interesting? What do you think?

Correction the arcade name was "Just Fun" at the Fairfield mall in Hadley?

I think I vaguely remember it, but I grew up in the berkshires so it would have been a haul. Lmk if anyone remembers the arcade!

If you end up with any MCR boards and want to sell I am looking for a couple of boards.
Funny that you mentioned MCR. I made the call to drop the cash when I saw a Satan's hollow board. Looked good but who knows if its working. I feel like im going to be buying alot of x to jamma adapters to test...

The two boardsets in the center middle and right middle are Sega System 16b (labeled on the sides, but I can't make out the names), while the lower right is Rolling Thunder.

The names are on the box. Moonwalker, Golden Axe, Shonibi.

Then its Ninja Turtles, Street Smart and. Ghostbusters.

im pretty happy with the Moonwalker find.

Oh yeah that is a rolling thunder.

Waiting for the usps boxes to come in along with the anti-static form.

Cleaning off the work bench to see if this jamma junk works.

My dad used to go that exact arcade in Hadley, he actually worked there. Mountain Farms mall is the mall Just Fun was in.

If you would use something like this I can send you some parts. Im not sure what I have left.

Thread 'universal jamma adapter' https://forums.arcade-museum.com/threads/universal-jamma-adapter.530514/

Thanks!

Oddly enough the guy who owned this collection seemed to actually play them. Almost every non jamma board came with wiring where it looks like he cut off the original wiring and terminated them to similar molex connectors and made notes. He must have made a console or something where he just plugged in the cables to play...

Kind of sad. The guy died and it has his "property of" with his name and address on each board.

The one thing he didnt do was wrap them well. They are all being wrapped now and stored vertical..im about 60% through them.

All 6 out of the 7 nintendo boards worked which im really happy with! Backup boards for dk, dk3, and popeye forever!
