I have a pc10 single monitor board and a vs kit (ps,wire harness,cp). I have heard the pc10 board will work in a vs machine but don't you need more buttons than the vs cp has to select a game, change game, ect or does the single monitor pcb work differently than the dual monitor?

Your Vs. control panel will have to be one from a dual cab or Red Tent. You need to have the 1,2,3, and 4 player buttons to be used as the Channel Select, Enter, Select, Start, and Reset button (press buttons 1&2 together).

You'll have to add 2 extra buttons to the single cab UniSystem version of the Vs. control panel.

so to make sure i've got this right, a regular vs wire harness needs to be hacked for the extra buttons to work with a pc10 board. it shouldn't be too hard to make a panel for the 5 buttons like the dedicated cab has, its just sheet metal. does anybody repo the pc10 cpo with the 5 button panel too?

i already have a dual monitor playchoice machine. i bought a single monitor board before i made the deal to get the ded machine. so im going to put together the single monitor machine for my brother.

I'm not sure but I think the regular/single cab vs wire harness has the connections for the 3 and 4 player buttons, even thought they aren't used on the panel. So there would be no hacking necessary.

On a single cab vs. UniSystem control panel with only the 1 and 2 player buttons, you would just have to add 2 more buttons and connect the extra wires from the vs. harness for the 3 and 4 player buttons. Like I said before, the 1 and 2 player buttons held down at the same time perform the reset function of the Playchoice panel, so you don't have to add a 5th button.

If you do want to have a 5th button, you may have to get a dedicated PC10 harness. I don't know how you could hack a single cab VS. harness for that 5th button.
