I bought a PC10 today (very excited) it's a single monitor....pretty good condition overall, but a few cosmetic flaws, but plays like a champ. My question is on the menu screen some of the titles aren't the corresponding board. For example, on the menu screen it says Baseball, you choose Baseball, and it's Donkey Kong (which I though wasn't a PC10 game) When Super Mario Brothers is selected, DK 3 plays (again didn't know that was a PC10 game) & Kung Fu plays Burgertime. Is this common? Any help/advise would be greatly appreciated. Oh, this machine came with 3 toppers, (Contra, Tecmo Bowl, & SMB3) they will be for sale if anyone is interested.

If you look on the main pcb, the 8T has been changed out to play any NES cart out there. What they didn't do was change the U* chip on the game pcb itself...

Someone has installed different chips in those pcbs. You are correct that Donkey Kong and DK3 were not original PC-10 pcb's.

Thanks for the quick reply, I'm very new to arcade machines and how exactly they work, so I'm not exactly sure what that means. So are you saying those are just NES game boards?

Long story short -

Your main pcb is modded with one chip. The one that is in position 8T. It will play both the original and modded, individual game pcbs.

If you open up the back of your machine, you will see up to 10 individual pcbs that stand up off of the main pcb. These are your game carts.

With your modded pcb, you are able to burn new roms for your individual games and play them. They did not change all the roms, obviously, with the old name still displaying in the menu.

Google some sites for more details.
