ah man dont get me started. I have been playing guild wars on and off for so long, recently started, then just stopped 2 months ago, I have like 3 lvl 20's, necro, ranger, and 55 monk. I think im gonna start again when gw2 comes out.

I built my computer for pc gaming, I used to play crysis, quake 3 arena, and unreal tournament so much. I love fast paced fps

I've been really disappointed with PC releases of late. I used to enjoy getting together with several buddies for LAN parties, playing mostly coop games, eg Diablo II, Ghost Recon, Raven Shield etc.

Now, a lot of PC games seem to just be average ports of console games.

The other disappointment is lack of decent multiplayer. Recent games mostly ignore the coop multiplayer part altogether, or don't allow more than 2-4 players. And worst of all they are dumping LAN multiplayer altogether from newer titles, to force people to connect to online servers to ensure they are all playing with authentic copies.

And I've noticed recently that games advertise "free online content", which really just means they yanked some of the content out of the game, and stuck it online to encourage you to activate/register the copy online to get the rest of the game that should have been on the DVD in the first place...

I hate to say it, but as a legitimate customer who actually buys games, copy protection and the change to tying games to require online services is really killing PC gaming for me.

Eg, Diablo 3 will only support 5 players in coop apparently, and have no LAN play, only online Battle.net. This is a step backwards from Diablo II, that supported 8 players. A friend of mine has a beach house, and we used to go away there for LAN party holidays, but the place has no broadband so that means that's no longer an option.

Even then, most newer games chew up tens of MB per player per hour, eg Battlefield 2 which is an older game uses up 50MB/hr, and because we don't have anyone who offers unlimited broadband plans here in Australia yet, we still have shaped download limits, hosting a LAN party can result in a big hit to your quota. A day's network gaming can chew up several GB, with 8 players.

i know what you mean, i have not yet and dont plan on buying call of duty modern warfare 2 because it has no dedicated servers or mod tools and like you said all games are mostly console ports, you can really tell this if you play both assassins creed games, their good games but the controlls feels like their for a console

consoles still get crappy pc ports though. i rember alot of complaints over games like dragon age and fallout 3. fallout 3 is very messy and glitchy on the ps3/360

Yes, no dedicated server was a slap in the face for PC gamers.

Assassins Creed 2 on PC has Ubisoft's latest draconian DRM. It requires a constant connection to home base, and if connection is lost, the game pauses or dumps you out. I can only hope their sales for this game on PC have been poor... But you can be sure in this case that the Ubisoft game publisher execs will blame something other than the DRM....

Settlers 7 was another game, and some players were locked out of the game on the day they bought it.

Battlefield Bad Company 2 looks good, but only supports 32 players. I'm still playing Battlefield 2, and it supports 64 players.

Mostly Team Fortress 2 and Left 4 Dead 2, although I've been playing through Crysis lately. My Steam ID.

I use to play Medal of Honor: Spearhead did that for about 4 years. Had my own website and clan with about 30 members. We called our selfs -=[LML]=- Living MoH Legends, "Where Legends, come to play" we didn't take the name serious or anything, all in good fun. My server was modded to run Fast shooting M1 Rifles with some other cool mods, we played Free for All as well. My Playing name for that was -=[LML]=-Ned the ShrunkenHead LOL, good times. I don't play any PC games anymore.

Here is a video i put on YouTube:

I know I've been saying this for a LONG time now, but I plan to join up on TF2 sometime soon. TellTale and Valve were nice enough to give the Sam & Max preorder bonus items to those who preordered through TellTale, so I kinda want to run around with Max's head hat for a while :p
