Hi everyone,

This is my first post... I'm new to the arcade world, but have made a lot of progress on this thing.

I have a Playchoice 10 dual monitor that I picked up off the curb. At first both monitors were dead. I installed a cap kit, diodes, etc... got both monitors running.

The problem I have is every game looks scrambled. I can hear the music, and play the game but there is garbage all over the lower screen. The top monitor with the menu's looks perfect. I have swapped connections/power and verified that the problem moves to the other monitor so I think it's pointing to the PCB somewhere. Is it possible all the games have problems, or is it more likely the PCB? Does anyone have a PC-10 dual monitor board for sale?

Thanks,
Chris

I guess this must not be a common problem since no one has replied. Anyway, bought another game and it has the same issue so I think it must be the motherboard. I ordered another one and I'll post my results once it arrive, in case someone is curious.

Try each game one at a time, alone in the motherboard. It's not common, but one game can affect all the others if it's bad.

Thanks for the suggestions guys.

I tried the games individually, but still the same problem.

I have looked all over the PCB and can't find anything obvious. There was a capacitor that I replaced that looked suspicious, that big supercapacitor, 1F 5.5v on the corner of the board, but it didn't help. It's tricky to get components off the board because they are soldered on both sides. I've checked the diodes, and some of the transistors that I thought might be related but didn't find anything.

I have a new PCB on the way, so I guess this one can be for spare parts.
