Just a question: Which one of these would you rather have? Both play NES games but Vs. has harder versions that are actully set for coin op. The thing with a PC 10 is that changing the games is easier and you can put several of them in at the same time while Vs. lets you only put in one or two(in the case of the red tent).

I prefer the PC10 myself, but 'm tempted to get a VS. Duck Hunt simply because you can shoot the dog.

Vs. is certainly more rewarding. It does require more of an investment to get more games, but I think the games being unique to the Vs. platform more than makes up for that.

Exactly! The VS. feels more like I am doing a hobby. The PC-10 feels more like I am collecting NES carts and standing up instead of sitting while playing.

Go with the PC10 and try to get a dedicated single monitor cab. You get more games in 1 cab. Later you can just buy a Vs. pcb, with whatever games you like and a Vs. control panel, and also use it in the PC10 cab since they use the same wiring harness. I do this when I want to play vs. Excitebike.

Other than being able to select difficulty and coin-up individual games on the Vs. games, it seems the Vs. versions of Gradius, Castlevania, and Goonies don't offer too much difference or any extra levels compared to the Playchoice versions. At least Vs. Excitebike has the bonus levels that are not in the Playchoice version. And Vs. Balloon Fight lets 2 players have their own screens that scroll vertically, on a Red Tent or dual system, which you can't do on Playchoice.

I know there are lots of Vs. titles not available on the Playchoice. You just have to decide if they are something you're really going to spend time playing.

The 2 main Vs. games for me are Excitebike and Balloon Fight.

If you want to play NES titles on the best native RGB monitor set up you can obtain without hacking a NES console, PC-10 is the shit. If you're a hardcore NES fan, it is also a pretty cool piece to own.

If it bothers you that they are identical to the NES games, then don't even bother considering it. Some people just can't get over that fact and consider it a major con. The only reason I don't blame them for it is the pricing on individual games, which is fucking retarded for the PC-10 vs. their NES/Famicom cart pricing.

Everything else to complain about is small shit compared to that major hump.

I agree. And some of the higher priced games, like Rockin' Kats, aren't even as fun as most of the lower priced games.

I'd buy both but I don't have alot of room so I went with the countertop's 4 of them !
