Get this I sell an item with buy it now
on Ebay and paypal sends me a email
stating that they are working with ebay to make
buyers and sellor's safer that "They not the buyer
are placing a hold on funds for 21 days"
or untill item is shipped and buyer leaves positive feedback
then they may lift the hold before that if they feel like it.
This applies to sellor's with less then 100 feedbacks
and anyone less then 100% positive feedback with ebay

This sounds EXACTLY like what AMAZON is doing. They are really trying to compete with AMAZON and are following their practices more and more. Amazon did the same thing to me when I opened an account. They held the money for 14 days on my first transaction. If you think about it, it makes sense. If the buyer doesn't complain within 14 days then I must be legit and I can have my money. If you notice the whole marketing of the site has changed drastically. They are trying to act more like a store and not an auction site. Anyways, yeah, that sucks. If you're honest, you have nothing to worry about.

What if the buyer is shady
and say's they didn't get it or it's not as advertised
then they have my item + i paid to ship and possibly give me negative feedback .

I called them about this
they said if your not happy with doing this then refund the payment
Shit pay me intrest on my money your holding for 21 days they have no problem
collecting fee's ..

Happened to me once when the buyer used an echeck. It was also a couple hundred $ so not sure which triggered it. I've sold things on EBAY for a lot more then that though and it didn't trigger it, so I think it is the echeck.

I'd suggest shipping it UPS and insure it. A signature wouldn't be a bad idea as well.

That BS happened to me too the last time I sold something on ebay. What sucked even more was that after the item was delivered, for 3 days I waited for the damn money to be released. It took me emailing PAYPAL proof from UPS that the item was delivered to get my dough.

It's people like Jason Forster (aka Atarigalaxy) who are the reason for policy changes like this.

The good sellers get screwed over because the bad sellers (like Jason, who stopped responding to PMs right after this public humiliation thread was removed) take advantage of the system. If I were you, I'd move to a Bob Roberts type system. Most banks offer free online banking with bill pay, and all the buyer has to do is set up the seller as a new "Merchant".

When the bill pay scripts run, if the system cannot find an ACH number for that Mercant, it automatically generates a check and it gets mailed out.

Oh and Jason, or the friend of Jason that keeps him informed of what goes on here: if you think I'm done with you, you're sorely mistaken.

Keep this bullshit out of the public forum please, we don't need to hear it anymore. Thanks!

I am going on 9 months now waiting for Mark Spaeth to return my hypersports board. He is a thief also in my book until he does return it. This has only been met with negative remarks towards me on klov and removal of my posts by the McAdmin. I have been ripped off and lied to by more users here in the last 2 years than the prior 20 years in this hobby. Then to see the same dishonest ppl protected by the KLOV powers that be under some guise of fairness is just sad...

I had paypal do the same thing to me once.
Hasn't happened since.
I have done several transactions since they did it to me one time.

I hate paypal/ebay combo. I don'tmind sending money on paypal due to convenience.

i see Perf and Donaldsons side of this, and agree. Sav i think YOUR out of line on this one. Atarigalaxy IS one of the many douche con artists that is making ebay suck more by the day.

See comment above. This isn't the thread to air your dirty laundry. Take it to your own... sheesh...

So they're doing automatic escrow... sounds like good protection from unknown sellers.

It's really no more or less protection from shady buyers, as the buyer can claim non-receipt and get a refund, regardless of whether paypal escrows.

How about starting your own thread instead of crapping all over Keiths. Thanks.

:hijacked:

I think if you re-read the string of posts that led up to your reply you'll see that this is not crapping. Really. Go ahead, please. You'll see my frist post that:

1. Conveys empathy
2. Relates a similar situation
3. Offers a solution to the problem

Cause personally, I thought responding to another user's question would qualify as "participating in a discussion".

I guess I need to get my posts pre-approved to make sure they don't offend the reputation of a member of some unknown clique? Or is that just silly? I think it is.
