Paypal 21 Day Hold Policy

So you would let someone take your game away without making a payment???? You might as well not have the money if Paypal is holding onto it.

Not saying that at all. If you don't want to take paypal, sell elsewhere. The hold policy is garbage as well as the way they treat sellers compared to buyers. But if I followed the rules when I won the auction, and then I can't buy it because the seller adds terms which ebay doesn't allow then that's not fair.

In this situation I would ask the buyer to leave feedback after inspecting the game. If he's not a douche he'll do it. Even if paypal releases the funds to you they'll take them back if the buyer complains. Either way if the buyer is a douche you're fucked. If you want to sell on ebay just make sure your auctions state that local pickup is cash only. The worst that'll happen is your feedback will take a hit...

well i lucked out. i spoke to the buyer and told him everything that was going on. I was just going to have him leave feedback here as he took off. And surprisingly (without me asking) he went ahead and gave me positive feedback today so the funds would be released. really cool, and shockingly trusting on his part. I suppose he's already seen tons of pics of the machine (turned on and off), and has my address and phone number. so if i were to try to screw him i guess he could come here and beat the hell from me, haha

I had this problem last year with a machine I bought. I went around and around with Paypal, telling them that I was picking it up, it wouldnt be shipped, and that the seller would not release it until the payment cleared. I wound up having to leave feedback a couple days before I went after it, and still had to call them back to get it released

He always has protection from Paypal. Glad to hear it all worked out!

I agree with you for the most part. The problem is eBay forces you to use Paypal which I don't agree with. You are right though the best thing to do is not to sell through eBay which I do 99% of the time :)
