Pay phone Key ID needed for lock

Good to know. Thank you

I'm working on getting an RJ-11 cable to see if this will work connected to a regular house wall jack

Stay tuned…

actually, you could disable the RINGER! that was when any calls come in, you would be completely blind to them! haha so i guess that would be one work-around hack! :p

Hmmm, would that be just cutting or removing any wires to the bell?

I connected a stripped RJ-11 cable to the block matching the colors from the old wire.

I have dial tone. I can make an outgoing call and incoming calls work as well though I don't know yet if I'll disconnect the bell or not

34 key + T-key opened it right up, though I didn't realize I had to pull the case forward to get it removed. I thought it opened like a book. Nothing of importance inside

Is there any way to test this or get this working without spending a lot of time and money?
That's awesome I'm glad you were able to get it opened up! That service record slip is a pretty neat thing to find inside

I was looking for a place to put the phone. I had tested hanging it from a chain, but the chain I had only supported 10 lbs and it broke.

There's really no wood on the walls (cinderblock), so I found a spot at the bottom of the stairs. I left some space above empty for a sign

Have you tried contacting Phoneco? That style of payphone shouldn't require heavy modifications or external hardware to operate unlike the earlier payphones. Give it the Red/Green Ring and tip wires.

I already got an upper door key from eBay that worked perfectly
