Show is in Las Vegas, took a non-working pacman cocktail in for 175.00
took it to a game repair place and paid 350 to get it fixed.
the guy there said they will get 100-1250
Just wondering if anyone saw it or the repair guy anyone from here?
name of the show is Pawn Stars

I saw it. The monitor had been replaced too...

This is all hollywood stuff. For instance, the guy that sold it to him claimed that he fixed them on the side, but replaced the power cord and couldn't get it to turn on. ? How could anybody that 'fixes them' on the side not know that?

Then when they showed it repaired, it had some sort of replacement monitor in it, it wasn't a regular monitor. Also the screenshot they showed of it playing was a VGA computer monitor.

So who the hell knows what really happened, lol. It probably wasn't even the same game before and after.

i saw that, too. It looked like at first the guy pulled out another one that he had restored previously, but then they made it sound like the "restored one" was the one that he just dropped off. Who knows. I did chuckle a bit when he paid 175 for it, especially since he had no idea if it was even complete.

I'm just blown away History channel is desperate enough to green light a reality show about a f'n pawn shop. ugh....

Yes, I wanna see meth heads turn in their stolen instruments and power tools for cash. good tv.

I agree! What's next? maybe a reality show about a porn shop.

Well, there is that Bunny Ranch show on HBO.

Yeah, but I thought he was referring to a porn retail shop. Just think about it, lonely male derelicts endlessly wandering up and down the aisles of the store waiting for a woman, any woman, to enter the store. She walks in the door and they pounce.

Talk about great television...

The show seems to fit the mold that American Chopper made. Family business, Yelling, screaming, and the bumbling idiot.

It could turn out to be an interesting show though (scripted drama aside). Pawn shops are great and being that it's in Vegas you could see some interesting things being pawned. From what I have seen so far I saw people trying to sell Dali proofs to civil war era cannons/guns to pacman.

Yup. Sounds like the formula for American Chopper, American HotRod, and any other scripted drivel that relies solely on dysfunction to function. I personally think that formula is sooooooooo last week. But, History is doing their best, along with several other cable networks to try to get into Discoverie's market share. I guess for program lineup diversity, its different....still sucks. Same concept as the Bravo series "King of Cars". Don't see that around much anymore do ya? Some reality concepts should just stay off camera.

The pr0n shop might be interesting but only HBO or Showtime would touch it. You wouldn't believe how paranoid some of the networks are about getting sued, even with E&O insurance.

I give pawn shop one season.....but I've been wrong before.

C'mon it's trying to tap the Antiques Roadshow market, except that most of the crap, I mean stuff, other than the old guy aren't antiques. And they don't have any legitimate experts.

I mean where else can you buy an $18,000 Rolex still in the wrapper for $5,000, just to settle a bet so the salesmen didn't have to wear a suit to work for one day (you have to see the episode).

Whatta pile o' crap. I'm gonna just turn it off to watch something real, like Flavor of Love....:D

i watched one episode last week, the one with the cash register and civil war sword. it is kind of a neat show. vegas is definitely the right place to do it in, i've heard a lot of weird stuff gets pawned there.

just saw that episode last night. seems like they charged a lot for repairs for it, for an underlay and a board repair.... but i don't think they're gonna get 1000-1200 for it.

Was it me or did anyone notice the coin-door missing and interlock switch just hanging there when he showed them the 'repairs' at the game shop..

Yeah that underlay looks snazzy, NOT!

I'm waiting to see what they price a Atari 2600 with a bunch of games for on sunday when the next episode airs..

It's probably going to be a rip off. I got my 2 Atari 2600s w/ 6 controllers, nearly 70 games, 2 storage cases, and all the connections for $45. They really don't sell for much if you know where to look.

Especially since they are highly sought after collector items.....Or something to that effect according to the pawn shop guy. I'm waiting for that one also.
