I've got a question. It's probably been asked and answered before, but I'm still pretty new to this and want to know is there a way to add a pause to a 60 in 1 multicade? Can pause be added to some of the original PCB's? I heard somewhere that a couple wires can be soldered onto the pins of some of the chips and will pause a game?? Thanks for any help.

Pause switches are nice to have...I got one on a couple of my Neo Geos, on those you have to wire in a switch for dip switch 8 -- freeze screen dip -- so you are just moving the dip to somewhere easier to reach. Makes bathroom / beer / coffee breaks much easier to take without affecting gameplay. I never leave them paused more then a couple of minutes so screen burn is not an issue.

I'm not sure if you can with the 60/1 PCB though.

If you get one of the multi boards that has a keyboard input you could do it. Ya know the big dollar ones with hard drives or cf drives.

Pause

I'm only looking for brief pause for grabbing a beer or bathroom break. Is there any issue to be concerned with for powering off monitor and leaving PCB on? I'm also thinking about adding a toggle for monitor off only. Thanks for the help.

There's a Dip Switch on SW that would allow this. It's actually to move the game screen by screen for testing, but when you flick the switch, everything freezes.

Don't do it during a death-star explosion though !
