I'm tired of messing with monitor propped on chairs tearing apart games etc to try and adjust them.

I am looking for a pattern generator. I looked on ebay and there are lots bit I think they just work for TV since they broad cast on channels

How do I know if one has an RGB output? or do they all do this as well has RF output?

same here i would like one for standard and med res only with rgb with positive and negative synk.

i don't need anything digital my lap top will work for that.
plus i don't work on any thing digital any way.

I use an old game board set on test and that monitor extension cable. Most games have some kind of test setting that has all the patterns.

But I'm cheap as hell, so take that into account....

I was planning to do some convergence after some tube swaps so I figured I needed a better setup.

Is there any way to get one of these 20 buck TV ones and grab the video before its RF for channel 3/4?

I bought this because I saw the RGB leads on another same model one, but I don't think thats what they were for. It does have 3 RGB alaigator clips and a black clip but I don't think its for video input. There is no sync

Anyone body figure out how to get the RGB before it become RF in these old generators?

or is there a cheap single solution to add an RF receiver to RGB to attach to the monitor to make it like a TV when I adjust?

I recommend an Atari Tetris board. It has a small footprint and has some great built in test patterns. (This is what I use for monitor work.)

Somewhere buried in a box I have some video boards that took composite video and converted it to RGB...
