Patina or vandalism?

dude, don't be lame. smoking is cool (all the cool kids are doing it), cig burns are amongst the most desirable of patina features

just clean up whatever tar you can and savor the patina

Well what about cigarette burns? Do they fall in the same category as this? This is a little much for me, but just a little bit reminds me as a sign of the times.

Where did that come from?!
That snowboard shop was in CO last I knew.

The asteriods came from apple valley California. The game came from known arcade vendor and not from the orginal owner. Too bad the stickers can not speak. I assume the game came from a kid growing up and added stickers to the game throughout his life. At least I assume that. I keep the game whole because I would love to think it tells a story of a kid growing up with this machine. School logo, the shoes the kid liked, the trips the kid took. The military the kid went too.

I had a funny thought of bring it to a show once but honestly some of the people who visit those shows would peel off the stickers thinking that they knew best and it should look like every other asteriods machine. People need to keep thier paws off of the arcade machine and just play and not mess up how it looks.

Banning had those kinds of issues at least the arcade side did.

I think there's a difference between honest wear and graffiti. I can live with a worn CPO or cabinet art that's a bit banged up but someone carving their name into it bothers me. I see more of it with pinball machines where people sharpied their high scores onto em no infrequently.
