I have a Star Castle and Ripoff machine, each with decent side art and the usual chips and dings along the edges.
The main problem is that there is no repro sideart for these cabs, and I've never seen NOS art for sale either. I'm assuming this is the best art I'll get.
Both cabs are crappy particle board covered with a thin vinyl/laminate. I'd love to strip the sides down to board and re-laminate, but then I'd lose the art.
So two questions:
1) How to fix the chipped laminate ... Just use bondo and paint? The RipOff cab has textured laminate, so a bondo/paint solution wouldn't match. the SC is smooth, so that could work.
2) there are some gouges in the side art stickers, but it seems like it could be "fixed" by relaxing the torn sticker and laying it flat again. Has anyone tried this? would a heat gun help?
Thanks in advance for your help. I think I'm only collecting plywood cabs with stenciled art from now on
