Several years ago I started collecting and restoring games. My wife was annoyed initially. Then she saw pics of some of the awesome spaces you guys have and decided that it was in fact... super cool.

When we started looking for houses, we made sure to look for one with a full basement so we could turn it in to a game room. We bought this house and I built my barcade. I put in floors, built the bar, threw up some paint...

Here are a few pics...

I'll always be tweaking and adding things... but I think its finally where I think it's pretty cool. I've got 14 games in there, probably room for one more. A few more than that if I get creative.

This looks like a real bar with an arcade. One of the best I've ever seen. Can't believe this is in someones house. Amazing!

Nice! That looks real cool.

After seeing some of the great arcades and barcades in the basements, I need to give my renter the boot and turn the basement into something as sweet.:p

Wow. It's amazing how many games you've been able to fit down there. Any gameroom that has Indy Jones and Star Wars AND a Scout Trooper hitting the bottle is A O K in my book.

I asked the guys in my local collectors group (PAC) if they had stuff sitting around they didn't want or would eventually throw away like manuals or crapy CPO's or posters. Several came through with a ton of really awesome stuff. I cut out a bunch, made a collage and glued it down with Mod Podge then poured a layer of Envirotex resin over the top. I also did a small bar table the same way.

Nicely done sir!
That Assault looks awseome! Mine lacks sideart and proper joysitcks SADFACE

Awesome! I like the flooring and think that's what I'm going with in my basement.

I had a real problem with damp floors in the basement. Whenever it rained water would pool in the corners and run down the middle of the room.

One day I'll get a proper french drain system going, but for now what I did was put down a layer of super seal.

What this does is provide a nice moisture barrier so water can still do what it wants and runs underneath and continues into the sump well. I put down superseal, a layer of OSB subfloor, a foam floor water/vapor barrier, and then cheap-o flooring from Lowes.

Had one of the rainy-est seasons in Oregon last year and I didn't have one water problem.

Isn't that OSB getting wet going to be a problem though?

It doesn't get wet. That's what the superseal is there for. It it's a dimpled membrane that the OSB is sitting on top of. The moisture goes underneath the plastic dimpled membrane freely and never touches any wood.

I've had zero moisture related issues last fall and this fall so far.

wow, looks great down there in the basement darth!

love the look and feel of it. def original with all your own touches. has a real raw/grungy feel (not too clean and polished).

i could actually see an old punk band playing a show down there. bravo man! chris
