Parts you'd like to see repro'd?

Red Tent CPO's...

-

No CPOs, no artwork, I'm talking specifically things that need a machinist's touch. There are other KLOVers here far more skilled than I whom are good at artwork, you ought to start a "artwork you'd like to see repro'd" thread to hopefully spark some interest.

How about the brass bushings for Tempest spinners?

Scott C.

Now THAT sounds like an easy one, just a brass rod on a lathe, shave it down to the right shape and bore a precise hole in the center. I've got a Tempest spinner somewhere and I'll have to give it a look. I was playing a Tron earlier today that clearly needed a new bearing of some kind, that's another one to consider.

Yep, the KLAX and Tetris cabaret CP design is unique to those games. I could certainly use a blank or two of these myself.

Hey Keith, when are you going to buy my KLAX cabaret?

Scott C.

That's sheet metal work more than machining, not out of the realm of possibility, but slightly outside what I'm talking about. At some point I'm going to want to make a CP or two for myself so I'll get an idea of what's needed to do that kind of work, certainly a decent sheet metal brake at the least.

Tapper cupholders

For that given the size of the part I'd probably have to cast the basic shape myself out of aluminum first then machine it to clean it up, then have it plated. NOT a cheap end product by the looks of it to say the least. :(

Again let's not forget this is all for me to mull over and research, I'm a ways away from actually producing something to sell.

What are the SW yoke rebuild kits going for? And is anyone selling whole repro yokes anymore?

Partial kits, if you can find them, can go for hundreds of dollars. Nobody is selling repro full yokes any more except rarely an old one will pop up. They sell for more than I have ever paid for any of my complete Star Wars games.

Stupid question:

Are there any machinist's drawings around for them?

I was told Paradise Arcade is working on the Journey cassette player holder brackets, but haven't heard anything concrete. No pics, dates, nada. So not sure if this is a good candidate for repro with anyone else. Seems simple enough in design to repro.

I'm assuming that Ram Controls had them or generated them. It's a shame that they had to go screw everyone ever.

Yeah I don't know a lot about what went down with RAM Controls, but I get the impression they did NOT make a lot of friends in the world, but I don't want to open that can of worms.

I'm talking about the actual brushed metal control panel pieces, not the artwork. The ones on my Red Tent were hacked up by the previous owner. I should have been more specific.

Battlezone/Pole Position controller bezels.

The plastic ones seem to disintegrate at some point. would these be doable in metal?
