Parts you'd like to see repro'd?

metal coin door return flaps for the early 80's coinco single doors - takeman where are you?

i need about 20

Got a pic of one? Maybe that's something I could make a jig for to stamp them out.

Parts that make up the Battlezone joysticks.

1. Mounting plate circles, most of them have the screw legs broke off of them or about ready to break. (should be made out of aluminum)

2. Ball joint, lots of them are torn up and have heavy gouges in the plastic.

3. The joystick base. Just like the ball section, the socket part of the base is usually broken or badly gouged.

Interesting thought. I have some BZ controls around, I'll have to dig them up too along with the Arkanoid spinners and see what the possibilities are, certainly the plate circles sound doable. Also Red Baron's stick shares a few parts with BZ's controls, I'll have to look at one of them too.

All the stuff mentioned thus far are things that more or less can be found, is there anything pretty much unobtainable that keeps games from being repro'd or is gradually driving existing ones to extinction? It would be nice to help save some games or aid in recreating rare ones, like has been done with Quantum. I know there's a lot of unobtainable electronics (PCBs, ICs, etc) badly needed in the hobby but I'm talking about metal and plastic stuff.

If I could do flybacks I'd make some for those damn MatSHITsu monitors from hell of which I've been tormented by in my Turbo mini. :)

Theunrealrobboberts has the flybacks for those I think he's the only guy 50/50 whether it works tbf but why not give it a shot.

Thanks but it's too late for me as I gave up and scrapped that monitor, now I'm hunting for another what both works and physically fits. Thought it would be easier than it's working out, for whatever reason that game is fussy as hell. :(

i could repro all sorts of shit (metal parts, pcbs, plastics) but no one want to pay for it, and if you get the ppl to say there in when its time they disappear.

good luck though

Yeah trust me, whatever I do I won't be putting a lot of $ into, just effort and creative impromptu manufacturing. If I did anything requiring serious cash for outside manufactured parts I'd take deposits first.

Here's a great example of a guy selling lathed arcade parts:

It would be great if someone could engineer a metal version of the base. (Not just a metal version of the plastic, as that wouldn't be easy, but rather a design that accomplishes the same thing, but is made of metal.)

The original design is almost under-engineered for BZ, as the bases crack from the forces people put on the levers. Plus I suspect the plastic has gotten more brittle over the years, as I don't abuse my sticks, and I've had them crack. The same bases were used for PP and Red Baron, but BZ seems to be where they take the most force.

I wonder if they could be 3D printed out of a tougher plastic. Maybe there isn't a huge demand, but it would be a great improvement over the original bases.

And yeah, a metal version of the bezel rings would be great too. So many broken ones of those around.

picture of the coin door flap in question from the typical early 80's coinco single door

its quite flat

Someone was kind enough to lend me an old style large Atari button of the kind that went on B&W games like Fire Truck and Steeplechase, looks like it's doable with some simplifications, would there be much of a market for them?

What are the SW yoke rebuild kits going for? And is anyone selling whole repro yokes anymore?

One thing I wish was easier to do is to make mini/cabarets of the games that were only prototyped or were never made as minis.

For example Taito made a bunch of minis, but it's impossible to find Front Line. I wouldn't want to steal from Jungle King to make Front Line, so it would be great to have the metal parts available as a kit. Same's true for Bally Minis or Atari Klax/Tetris. I think some parts were made for each, but I wish there were more new cabinets built to be identical and with other games.
Yep, the KLAX and Tetris cabaret CP design is unique to those games. I could certainly use a blank or two of these myself.

Hey Keith, when are you going to buy my KLAX cabaret? 😃
