Parts or whole - Megatouch 4 Cabaret with "improper" 19" monitor...

Sue is on her way home with a Megatouch 4 cabaret she just picked up. I just need the monitor out of it since I'm having numerous monitor issues with her MT6 (I am learning that replacing the monitor with anything besides WG is a bad idea).

This will be a complete and working game (except the monitor deal which Ill mention shortly...), even has a DBA (Or I have just a quarter coin door if you prefer), and its in decent shape.

Now Ill try to explain the monitor deal... our Megatouch 6 had dim/bleeding red's on the monitor and a cap kit did nothing for it. I ended up pitching the tube and selling the chassis and bought a used monitor for it. Ended up realizing that it would require an iso so I bought a brand new iso and wired it in (also has a different style video connector which was also wired in). I also knew it needed a cap kit, had a pincushioning issue and a rolling picture. Well I finally did a cap kit on this last night. Pincushioning is gone, but still some rolling (which goes away after a brief warmup). At this point, I'm not sure if it just wont sync with the MT or if theres another problem with the chassis. Also, the touchscreen is off now, and re-calibrating isnt making it better. It will play, but some spots are off. Its very noticeable in games like phraze craze and sum fun. I have tried 2 known working controllers with the same results.

Do I have you confused yet?

So basically when all is said and done, I will have a working MT4 cabaret with an "improper" monitor. If you want it whole, I'm in Fulton, MO., or I can also bring it to the STL auction this Tuesday. I'd acually prefer to sell it this way and will price it reasonably, but will entertain a part-out if anyone is in need.

Anyone want to shove me one way or the other?

BTW, the monitor in it now is a Kaga/TSK KZ-19V with some screen burn from a Tee'd Off game. Fresh caps with a good picture that rolls on cold startup (again, not sure if it just wont sync with the MT or if the chassis is still to blame). The original (and I'm guessing "proper") monitor for it was a WG 19K7203 which didnt require an iso.

Ill post photos tonight or tomorrow when I get a chance.

Heres some photos... its a "Super" MT4 setup with 19 games (see screenshot). I think I have fixed the rolling issue with the monitor (time will tell), touchscreen is still off, mainly in the bottom RH corner. Most games seem playable except for phraze craze (it can be played if you adjust to it). I dont even have a buck to my name at the moment so the DBA is untested, we were told it works. Ill report back if I'm able to test it later.

I am going to list the whole thing on CL for $75, will haggle if a local forum member wants it. If anyone wants it (or any parts from it), let me know before Monday. I may consign it on Tuesday at the STL auction if I cant get a bite on this before then.

I think I already mentioned this also, but if you prefer a standard "double quarter" coin door, I can do that also.

Those cabaret cabs are awesome...now that you mention it, a shooter would definitely be doable!

BTW - for what its worth, I had slightly bleeding red on mine, and I believe on the board there's a video brightness adjustment you just have to turn down :) Mine still bleeds a "hair" but its not bad.

I know all about the dials on the PCB, they didnt make a difference for me. It was definitely a dying tube. The one Sue just picked up has a "dim" monitor but at least all the colors are there, and the touchscreen works. Ill try capping that one later on down the road and keep my fingers crossed.

Yes, the cabarets are awesome. IMO its much better playing these games on a 19" touchscreen than a bartop (nothing against bartop owners BTW), and they go nicely with the arcade games. I never thought about the gun game idea, that might be cool. I was thinking it would make a good touchscreen video jukebox if it ends up on the chopping block.

CL ad is up. Rolling issue seems to be fixed, just started it up again this morning and hasnt rolled yet. Nice working, recapped monitor alone has to be worth it IMO.

Please don't be offended at all, but did you calibrate the touchscreen?

EDIT: From looking at your pics, I also see that your vertical adjustment is off. At the top of your screen, the lines for the top of the boxes are off the screen. Adjust your screen to see the entire boxes. Maybe it will help, maybe it won't.

Ive tried everything, moving cables, calibrating the touchscreen, adjusting picture. Nothings helping. Only thing I havent tried (which might work) is shrinking the screen vertically, that way the affected areas arent in play (in theory), but the picture would look funny. I'm done messing with it and we dont need 2 of these. At this point its either sell it or it becomes a parts machine and/or "other" project.

Im getting convinced it has something to do with running an iso. Both games run fine with the dedicated monitor, and I have 3 controllers that all work properly with the WG and all have the same "sweet spots" with the Kaga/TSK.

Only other thing I havent tried is moving the ISO somewhere, but I have it a good foor or two away from the monitor already.

Just an update... the DBA works, adds 4 credits as it should. Ill throw it on another game if no one wants it. I have interest in the PCB... at this point, everythings still up for grabs.

PCB is sold. Lets add some asking prices... hopefully for a quick sale. Our fridge died yesterday and we need the money. All prices include U.S. shipping:

Touchscreen Controller (2 available) $25 shipped each
19" Touchscreen (will require lots of padding, so...) $30 shipped
Wire Harness $25 shipped
Marquee with 2 Plexi's $25 shipped (will seperate if you want it cheaper)
Lower door (maybe these go missing sometimes?) $25 shipped
Bezel $40 shipped
Kaga/TSK KZ-19V Chassis (recapped) $40 shipped
Brand new Isolation Transformer $20 shipped
Peter Chou Switching Power Supply $25 shipped

Coin door pricing will depend on parts or whole. I'd say it will probably run $60 shipped for the whole assembly. I will seperate as needed for a much better price. Your choice of either a double quarter door or single quarter with working DBA. I will sell just the DBA for $30 shipped if you want it, and the coin bucket will be $20 shipped.

If someone local wants it, $50 as it sits now.

Obvious discounts on multiple purchases, just let me know what your interested in.

Ill probably also be parting out a Pub Time Darts (still "on the fence", but almost forced to part it at this point), Ill make another thread on that later today.
