Hi can anyone help? turned on machine and as it was going thru the start up program everything showed up OK except when it got to FLASH it showed up E124 FLASH DATA ERROR " I am not that clear on what I can do to fix it ,can anyone share some info

Which of PPP mix is it? Either way, I believe firebeat and viper hardware run off flash memory cards. Try switching the card to the other slot (if there is a second), since it sounds like it's just failing out on the flash check. I know when I switched mixes on my DDR cabinet, I had the card in the wrong slot and it wouldn't boot; but that was on a 573 digital system. All I did was switch slots and it booted fine.

We definitely need to know which mix before we do anything else, because PPP 2nd ran on completely different hardware (Viper; previous versions ran on Firebeat).

para para paradise

The machine is not a 2nd mix or 1st mix I believe its could be a Japanese version, the top marque only has "para para paradise, I have look for any number markings the identify it but all the print is in Korean or Japanese. The machine has about 28 songs , there is a side by side compact disk player inside and I have notice when the game is turned and is going thru loading you can notice the green light on the compact disk (which both have cd's inside) loading but will turn off when the error "E124 flash data error comes" up on the screen. I am not electronic minded so pardon my understanding of what I know.. could it be a problem with the compact disk , not sure about what you mean by card ?

Konami Firebeat. Viper stores EVERYTHING on a CF card; Firebeat has dual optical drives.

You're gonna need to know your exact version. You should be able to force open the CD drives with a paperclip; assuming you have a legit version (I don't know of any PPP bootlegs but you never know) it should say what version you have right on the disc label. If there's a box on the left side, post ALL the letters/numbers in that box.

You do have a dongle with a DB-9 (looks like a computer serial port), right? It goes in the port labeled "SECURITY" on the front of the computer. Pull it off and inspect the pins; if any of them look bent or burnt.... actually hold the phone, I should check something before you open it. Just re-seat it for now.

There's what looks to be an EEPROM on the mainboard, marked "EP4M16". I'd bet good money that's the BIOS ROM; if you have a programmer, it may be worth your time to verify it, and reburn if necessary. Inspect the socket it's in too.... if it's single-wipe or looking corroded, you may want to break out the soldering iron and replace it.

P.S.: COM1 and COM2 are used for linking GF/DM machines; they're not used or recognized by PPP.
