Paperboy's monitor is alive! But, the picture is too small.
So, I finally got the 4915 working in my Paperboy. I actually sent this monitor chassis to Chad (this was a dead monitor given to me from a friend. And, I was seriously sick of working on monitors so I just sent it out. I feel like it's all I ever do!). Chad got it working and sent it back to me. And, well, it didn't work when I plugged it into the tube that I got with the chassis. So, I was stuck. Last night, I looked over the chassis and couldn't find anything that jumped out at me. Chad's work all looked good. So, I stuck my working K7000 med res chassis in there and verified the tube worked (but the 4915's yoke is not a match, stretched picture). So, I looked over the chassis some more and started looking around the flyback area since I had no HV. I tested continuity in that area and found a bad solder joint on the flyback. I desoldered it and the pad fell off. Woot! I found it! I jumpered this with some wire and plugged it in! BAM! IT worked. WOOT!!!!
However, the picture is too small. I haven't touched the Horizontal width coil yet, but either way, I can't get it to fill the screen vertically or horizontally. There is about a 0.75" black border around the whole image. I guess I could live with it, but it's clearly not right.
Any ideas???
Monitor has a cap kit and new flyback.
